Budget = Current budget + Development budget
Current budget = Salaries + Pensions + Running Costs +
etc.
Non Salary Budget (NSB)
Development Budget = New Projects (Infrastructure etc.)
10. Financing of Education
Federal Government provides funds to provinces under NFC
Formula.
Pakistan spends only 2.3 % of the GDP for Education or $5.3
Billion -
GDP of Pakistan: $232.2 Billion (World Bank)
If 4% of GDP then the education budgets shall be $9.3 Billion
Current Spending is significantly lower than most developing
countries even – Comparison: India spends 4.1% of GDP or
approx. $77 Billion
