We know that the Indian Premier
League (IPL) is a professional
Twenty20 cricket league in India
contested annually by franchise
teams representing Indian cities,
but PR & Event Management club
has made it possible to create an
IPL notable environment with their
event IPL BIDDING in Uurja 2015 at
Bidholi campus.
The game started with playing
eight numbers of videos for the 31
teams playing solo or with peers
where each team had to bid a
certain amount of money on the
each upcoming ball of the series
being played on the screen.
Eight teams were selected for the
virtual IPL bidding after a
thoroughgoing scrutiny over the
scores of all the team members.
The eight selected teams then
moved on to the second round
where each team bid for the
franchise name as well as for their
choice of members. Twists and
turns like purchasing of the coach,
rumors list and cutting back the
scores, etc. kept the game
interesting as well as the
participant attentive through out
the event.
After analyzing the virtual amount
left with the teams and the based
on the figures of their game points,
two teams were deemed the
ultimate winners of IPL Bidding
2015. With team owning the
franchise of Sunrisers Hyderabad
and having the team members
Prajwal Srivastava, Shivam Gupta,
Brahmjeet Tanwar, and Shivam
Singhal won the cash prize of worth
Rs. 6000 were the winners, while
the team owning the franchise of
Chennai SuperKings and including
the team members Akash Devraj,

The third week of October has been
informative as well as enlightening.
With the guest lectures on PPPand
Urbanization, course MA
Economics (with specialization in
energy) was introduced to the
concept of Artificial Neural
Network under the guidance of
prof. Pankaj Badoni, CIT- UPES,
Bidoli Campus.
The course, MA Energy Economics,
explores the theoretical and
empirical perspectives on
individual and industrial demand
for energy, energy supply, energy
markets, and public policies
affecting energy markets and
therefore it becomes important
them to understand the concept of
Artificial Neural Network. Wherein
Artificial Neural Network is nothing
but a family, in machine learning
and cognitive science, of statistical
learning models inspired by
biological neural networks (the
central nervous systems of animals,
in particular the brain) and are
used to estimate or approximate
functions that can depend on a
large number of inputs and are
generally unknown.The guest
lecture, consisting audience of MA
Energy Economics batch of 2015-
2017 and 2014-2016 respectively,
was explained in three parts
including
Part-I on Introduction to AI, Types
of Learning, Biological Neural
Network, Introduction to ANN,
Part-II on Perceptron single layer
and multi-layer perceptron,
different types of activation
functions and other available
networks and Part-III on
Implementation on MATLAB:
Introduction to MATLAB(Various
Commands), Neural Network
Simulation(from tool/without tool)
for a dummy dataset.The session,
hence, came to an end as prof.
Pankaj Badoni discussed various
aspects of the ANN and MATLAB
Workshop On Artificial Neural
NETWORK
