The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) was established in 1986 to strengthen disaster risk reduction in Asia. It aims to raise awareness, build capacity, facilitate partnerships and information exchange, and demonstrate innovative practices. ADPC has over 90 staff from 17 countries and has implemented over 81 projects across Asia. It provides training to over 6000 graduates worldwide and operates a Regional Early Warning Center that serves 27 countries. ADPC partners with UN agencies, development organizations, and the regional organizations SAARC and ASEAN to advance disaster risk reduction in Asia.
