high-interest topics across languages and genres.
Ease of Use: Students love EPIC. This is really a platform where students
actually read a book, and it is a book that they choose and like.
Students can search through this website very easily and securely.

based learning and instructional design. It is useful for a brain break for the
student.
Ease of Use: The app needs a strong connection to the internet, or the videos will be
choppy. Students love the choice that this website gives them in order to pick
which brain break they would like to participate in.

Higher Learning: This takes what the student learns in the classroom and helps them apply it in the real world.
It gives them a reality check when they see what their lifestyle choices look like. It shows
them how calories work and the benefits of each of the nutrition factors.
Ease of Use: It is easy to use and free. You enter the food, and it converts the nutritional value. The only
problem is that it doesn’t always have every food on there. You may just have to change
things slightly to get what you ate.

Uses: This app for learning is really for the “teacher” side of everything. This app allows for teachers
to communicate with parents about their students through alerts & announcements, secure
document delivery (electronically sending confidential student information), events &
appointments, and forms and permission slips.
Feedback: One of the districts I worked for did allow for students to join Bloomz with their teacher for
PBIS. This allowed for students to have behavior goals that they were working for, and the
teacher could share feedback with the student on how they were doing trying to obtain that goal.
Higher Learning: Again, this is geared more towards the “teacher” aspect, but with high learning it does allow
students to get on this app to monitor themselves on their behavior.
Ease of Use: Bloomz is tricky to start using. If either side is not a “tech savvy” person, then Bloomz can be
daunting.

opportunity to create quizzes as well.
Feedback: There is instant feedback when taking the quizzes and within the activities.
Higher Learning: The app is a fun way to learn. It is more appealing than reading about something or listening
to a lecture. It would be beneficial to keep the students' attention. It’s something that will be
used more as a tool within your classroom. Not the primary lesson.
Ease of Use: The website is easy to operate and free! It is labeled and appealing to the eye. The only
problem that could come up is that it needs Wi-Fi to be able to operate.
