This quote by John Naka, an American Bonsai Master, aptly defines how we have evolved to what our Core Capabilities are today. as is complemented by the quote at the bottom of the slide. In addition to providing trained and skilled technologists we utilize a unique Human Capital Management system that provides a unique approach for sourcing, assessing and assigning people to projects . Our expertise is focused thus, we are specialists as opposed to generalists. In the next few slides we will provide detailed information about our areas of focus but suffice it to say that you cannot be expert at everything. As a result of our people, our proven and well monitored processes and our specialized focus we can proudly say that We Deliver results. As consultants we work to assess and analyze your needs with you , we establish a plan together, Bonsai provides inputs to make sure that delivery expectations are realistic as are staffing levels, schedules and processes to make the project run smoothly . We work to carefully understand the division of labor between your staff and ours and should your needs change or staff is need for additional support we’ll be prepared to respond to those occurrences because for us delivering alsomeans contingency planning as well. - Of course, you’ve heard the old adage “you can’t be everything to everybody” – well, if you look at the supposed capabilities of many IT consulting firms they would lead you to believe that they have expertise in all areas, can capably deliver any type of project and that their capabilities are unbounded. At Bonsai we really do believe in that old saying and so we Concentrate on a set of Core Capabilities – at these we are experts , on these we can deliver because we have proven it and we are not above saying “ that is not something that we can do for you .” (We will explain in a few minutes how we can broaden our scope so that you can continue to work with us on a broader set of your needs.) First and foremost - We are Technologists – and very good ones BUT more importantly We are targeted Technologists with a dedicated focus on our core capabilities. We are skilled, we are trained, we stay current and we utilize Agile Development methodologies, most often Scrum, to enhance our processes and help assure our deliveries. We know that most of the projects that we get involved in are complex, with many variables that need to be tracked, monitored and managed. We got rather frustrated with the tools that were available for doing this and so we use a combination of an exceptional Human Capital Management and Talent Acquisition and Management system so we get the right team members on projects (we‘ll explain more about its capabilities in a few minutes) and then use proven agile methods and processes to provide more predictable services and results to you. Our chosen areas of focus are also important in that they complement each other so when we are working for another client we are honing our skills to better serve you. As an exemple - providing remote data managementand DBA services better enabes us to hire more skilled data base developers who are also capable of understanding your data needs when it is time to implement an ERP system with you. We don‘t expect our DBAs to design a UI or test network throughput, yes we specialize and we believe that‘s important. The quote at the bottom of the slide nicely illustrates how developing a bonsai collection takes a lot of effort to get just a few that are keepers, that are near perfect. We hope that thoughout this presentation you will see that same approach by Bonsai Consulting, with an eye toward providing perfection for your clients.
- There are a multitude of consulting companies out there including many with offices in the US and India and many of them do IT projects, some application development and frankly, many of them are good at what they do. What sets Bonsai apart is that we have very good people – trained, skilled, evaluated, senior level professionals that take pride in their work but in addition to their skills we provide a set of processes agreed to with our clients that take much of the guesswork out of the projects that we do. Our people have tools that they use to check progress, maintain schedules, assess deliverables, re-evaluate staffing and monitor critical-path. If something is out of balance we know it and can take proactive steps to stay on track, most often before we ever got off. What makes Bonsai different is that our focus keeps adding to our areas of expertise versus if we tried to do everything our skills would become diluted. - Utilizing the approaches on the previous slide let us explain two other important aspects of our services. We have found that in managing projects that flexibility is essential to deliver best results to our clients. In order to do so we offer a “best shore” concept that allows you to select the staffing location and options that best meet your needs, sometimes using combinations of the previously described models on a single project or doing more than one project at the same time using different models, due to different requirements. We know that you’ll find “best shore” as being the ultimate in flexibility. MAKE CHANGES? In addition to our focus on Core Capabilities we also have developed expertise in these industries.
