IPTV Pre-validation Process
Summary
IPTV is a rapidly growing standard within the hospitality industry and offers a very reliable platform for
converging live TV, interactive services, and internet access to guest rooms. Hospitality customers who
seek to provide differentiated guest experiences and maximize guest revenue are switching from
traditional coax (RF) distribution to Ethernet (IPTV) to get TV and rich information to the guest room TVs
and fitness centers.
Precor serves IPTV properties located in North America, APAC and EMEA with 880 line cardio product,
including the P80 console with Media Adapter, to seamlessly integrate into the existing IPTV distribution
network.
Key takeaways
All countries are can be supported. Support depends on a successful test.
Pre-validation is not necessary for approved vendors.
Complete pre-validation test for every IPTV opportunity not on the approved list.
IPTV signals vary from vendor to vendor so pre-validation is required.
Validation tests with Enseo or vendor products that fail cannot be supported.
Process for successful and failed pre-validation test
The sales team should engage Precor technical representatives immediately once IPTV becomes a
requirement. A pre-validation test must be scheduled with the IPTV vendor/integrator and a Precor
technical service representative. Contact the following people for pre-validation:
North America: bill.landry@precor.com
APAC: Tomokazu.ihara@amersports.com

Successful pre-validation test or approved vendor = Proceed with sale and installation
Send notification to Product Management so that marketing material can be updated
Note: successful test means that a technician has verified that the Precor Media Adatper works
ith the endor’s IPTV delivery system
o Scenario A = Technician tests vendor IPTV playback with Enseo product
o Scenario B = Technician tests vendor IPTV playback with P80 and vendor STB
Failed pre-validation test = Do not proceed with IPTV setup for customer. Find alternate method of
delivering TV.
IPTV support with the P80 Media Adapter is limited to the Enseo STB. Precor has no plans to
expand STB support at this time.
All opportunities with failed pre-validation should be requoted to incorporate alternative
delivery technologies (ex: digital headend).
