AKTIV TOURS - Your DMC in Hungary

                     Ideas for incentive groups
Your destination: Budapest

HUNGARY - 1100 YEARS IN THE HEART OF EUROPE

Our country is less than 100.000 square km, our language is not spoken anywhere else, our folk
songs do not resemble those of anyone else. Yet we have been living in the centre of Europe for
more than 1100 years. Despite a history of varying fortunes which devastated both its people and
its cultural assets and treasures, Hungary retains a valuable cultural and environmental heritage,
which people come from all parts of the world to enjoy.

The capital city, Budapest, "Pearl of the Danube", with its wonderful panorama, has been declared
a World Heritage site by UNESCO. After Iceland, this is where the world's largest quantity of
surface thermal water can be found: the healing waters of several hundred springs help thousands
of people recover their health. The largest lake in Central Europe, Lake Balaton, is a paradise for
families with small children, for yachtsmen and for lovers of the beach.

                                                                                                  2
Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport

The following airlines operate at Budapest Airport:

Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport was
established in 1942 and has been renovated in modern
style in the last few years. The airport is located
within the boundary of Budapest, in the south- east
part of the city. Transfer time from the airport to the
city centre is around 30 minutes, but of course it
depends on traffic in Budapest, which is the highest
usually from 8 am to 10 am and 6pm to 8 pm during
the week.
The airport is divided into 2 parts: Terminal A and
Terminal B, located one next to the other.

                                                                                                                3
1/ BOB-BON MAKING WORKSHOP

The chocolate workshop is a contemporary cosmopolitan cooking and chocolate studio course where you can master the basics of
hand-made chocolate making in a funny and interactive atmosphere.
The hands-on course gives you the opportunity to temper, cook, fill, bake … and ask questions side-by-side with our Chocolatier.
Learn about the history of cocoa, the basic equipment, classic and contemporary ingredients with the best practices.
The courses run in the late morning hours finishing with fancy box of chocolate bonbons that you can take home – and rounded up
with a 3-course Hungarian lunch of the season.

                                                                                                                                    4
2/ COOKING COURSE IN THE GRAND MARKET HALL

The group will be divided into smaller teams, and the cooking course starts with a prepared shopping list. Each team will have to
buy the ingredients the market (to make the program even more exciting, the list is written in Hungarian!). The course begins with
the cleaning and peeling of the ingredients, everybody uses the raw materials purchased by his or her own team. Typical
Hungarian dishes, such as the famous Gulyás soup are on the menu.
The main attraction of the competition is the preparation of the dessert, the pancakes. The winner is the one who can turn the
pancake in the air, without it landing on the floor.
At the end of the cooking course the guests can taste the dishes made by themselves. During the meal a small band plays popular
melodies of internationally known Hungarian composers, operettas and other classics.

                                                                                                                                      5
3/ TREASURE HUNT IN BUDA OR PEST

We would like to suggest a very funny activity that allows the guests to discover Budapest by themselves, in a different way... The main
objective of the activity is to get to know the Hungarian capital, getting through all the check-points and arrive to the end of the itinerary,
achiving the most possible points, of course...
We will divide the group into smaller team (of 5-10 pax each). Every team receives a small package, with instructions for the game, itinerary,
map, tickets for public transportation, etc...
During the activity participants will pass by the most important monuments of the city, answer questions related to budapest and Hungary,
get to know Hungarian specialities, meet the most caracteristics of our country, etc...

Possible stops in Buda:

ceremony will be held in the evening, during the dinner. The winner team is going to receive gifts.

                                                                                                                                              6
4/ BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN

House of Terror
is a museum located at Andrássy út 60. in Budapest, Hungary. It contains exhibits related to the fascist and communist dictatorial regimes in
20th century Hungary and is also a memorial to the victims of these regimes, including those detained, interrogated, tortured or killed in the
building.

From the House of Terror Museum we continue our tour to the Statue Park.
Following the topic of the tour we suggest as transportation a real communist car: the TRABANT. The Trabant is a „low-cost” automobile made
by the factury VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau. Back in its time it was the most popular vehicle in the countries of the communist
block, therefore in Hungary too.
Its body was fenoplast (phenolic resin) and its motor, two-cylinder two-stroke. It had space for 4 persons and luggage, it was compact, light
and long-lasting.
Of the very few cars the people from the Eastern countries had access to, the Trabant was the cheapest. To have one people had to sign up for
a list and they wait approximately 10 years to get it.

Statue Park
Displayed in the Park are 42 pieces of art from the Communist era between 1945 and 1989, including allegorical monuments of "Hungarian-
Soviet Friendship" and "Liberation", as well as statues of famous personalities from the labour movement, soldiers of the Red Army and other
gigantic pieces: Lenin, Marx, Engels, Dimitrov, Captain Ostapenko, Béla Kun and other "heroes" of the communist world.

                                                                                                                                           7
5/ BUNKER TOUR IN BUDAPEST

If you are looking for adventure with historical atmosphare the bunker tour is waiting for you!

Sirens screaming through the dark and quiet night. Tens of thousands people woke with a start, jumped out of their beds, grabbed their pre-
packedemergency bags, put out all the lights, blacked out their flats and routinely rushed to the nearest designated shelter. When the air raid was
over, people left the shelters, started removing the debris and resumed their ’normal’ lives but everyone knew that the story would be repeated
in a couple of days’ time.

There are 3,400 air raid shelters in Budapest today. Thank God, they have no function today but some 70 years ago, these shelters witnessed
terrible scenes and countless human tragedies. Unlike most bunker tours, which are short (typically one-hour-long) visits focusing on a particular
bunker, these bunker tours provide a general overview and a complex approach to a period when the bunkers were actually in use. The tour is
organized on the territory of the largest and by far most important industrial site of Hungary, Csepel Works (formerly Weiss Manfréd Works).

Csepel Works (formerly: Weiss Manfred Works) is the biggest plant in Hungary. It is situated in the south of Budapest, on Csepel island on the
Danube.

During the three-hour-long tour a number of interesting topics are presented and discussed and you can listen to some exclusive videos prepared
with elderly people who survived World War II. While walking along the roads and side-roads of the huge site, we learn about the history of the
plant. Then we learn about bombings (from the very beginning to the 1940s) and about the different methods of ground and air defence, methods
which were all seriously considered at that time but may seem rather ridiculous and absurd today.

Enjoy an adventurous bunker tour in Budapest while you can visit the most important places, buildings and bunkers from the times of the cold war
and the world war in Hungary. Feel the frightening atmosphere of the 40’s and 50’s.
6/ FASHION SHOW AT THE YBL VILLA

The YBL Villa has been renowned as one of the most beautiful villas of Buda for the past 150 years. The ancient monumental building
surrounded by a native tree park – as its name suggest - comes from the hands of Miklós Ybl: designed by József Hild for the then owner Antal
Rósa, it was most probably Ybl who finished the construction. Art historian Ervin Ybl, who was the correspondent of the fine arts section of the
Budapest Hírlap, thought that after the Vigadó in Pest this was the most exquisite and harmonious romantic premises. The villa was the first
sign of the neo renaissance movement in the capital. This is underlined by the harmonic building structure and lavish renaissance lodge. The
building apart from the few small refurbishment of the past century holds its original glorious design.

The three floors of the villa delegates the guests into the world of exclusivity and elegance. Every element and tool of sumptuousness is
present on this 800 square meters: from the tarnished cellar with its spectacular wine vault through the three glorious ensuite salons of the
mezzanine to the enchanting comfort the luxury guest rooms of the first floor – everything is about quality. As awaited the decoration is neat
and gentle. The furniture brought from London and Paris all in the style of Louis XV. and XVI. are in perfect harmony with the masterpieces of
19th century Hungarian painters. Antal Ligeti’s Italian inspiration landscape paintings dress the welcome salon, whereas the walls of the small
and large salons give space to classical romantic landscape pieces and elegant portraits of aristocrats from the old days, respectively.

                                                                                                                                             9

• After the reception we invite the guests to a different salon where they can enjoy a fashion show by a young Hungarian deigner: Tóth Bori,
who was nominated as the “Fashion designer of the Year” at the Hungarian Fashion Awards. Here philosophy is: „To be a woman is a
difficult and controversial task today. During the weekdays which claim strong, self-assured, active and masculine behaviour the need has
grown to emphasise fine femininity and classical elegance.” The fashion show takes about 20-25 minutes
• To finish the program a nice lunch is going to be served in the great salon.
• After lunch we transfer guests back to the hotel

                                                                                                                                          10

8/ GASTRONOMICAL TRIP TO ETYEK

Whenever a friendly company starts talking about wine and wine-growing regions, they are more and more likely to mention Etyek and its
environs in addition to Tokaj, Eger and Badacsony.
However, maybe fewer people know that this is mainly a re-discovery rather than a discovery because - up to the beginning of the 1880s -
farmers in Etyek planted vineyards on more than 400 hectares. Despite this fact, the Etyek Wine Area is one of the youngest wine-growing
regions in the country.
The vineyards - stretching over 1600 hectares from Bicske up to Pákozd - were granted the wine region rank in 1990. The new wine act of 1997
modified its name to Etyek-Budai Borvidék (Etyek-Buda Wine Area).
The village is located to the North from Budapest, at about 45-minute drive.

   Ham and pálinka tasting
Visit the “Gammon-master” and taste the delicious gammons, which are made in Etyek and mellow nearly one year long. The owner lives in the
middle of the beautiful vineyards and picturesque surroundings, with nice people in the neighborhood.
The old peasant furniture, smiling images of the ancestors, old pots, candle holders, inspiring nostalgia in everyone.
After the delicious gammon taste, we invite you to visit the Pálinka House in the neighbourhood. You will visit first the manufactory to learn
how the production of Pálinka happens. After that you have the opportunity to taste a few sort of pálinkas as well.
Believe us, you will not regret it.

                                                                                                                                        12
Lunch and afternoon at Haraszthy Vallejo cellar

"New tastes of tradition". This is the motto of the winery that inspired the architect, Ferenc Schüller, when he envisioned the building complex of
Haraszthy Vallejo Winery on the slopes of Öregyhegy, Etyek.
On the outskirts of Budapest, just 30 minutes from the city centre, you can enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of Haraszthy Vallejo Winery. This place
is more than just a winery.
One of the best places for wine and food lovers and also for those who simply want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
In the Cinnamon Restaurant or in the Knight Hall surrounded by barrels and the wine library, you will have the three wine professionals at your
service; the Wine Maker, the Sommelier and the Chef.
In the moment of entrance our guests are touched by the pleasant, warm feeling, raised by Mediterranean and modern elements, the contrast of
the sandstone wall from Sóskút and granite floor from Brazil. The contours of the processing, bottling and shop building are tamed and toned down
by the surrounding, green areas of lawn. The concept and attitude of the owners defines the everyday life of the winery and gives us an elegant
environment with a cozy atmosphere.
From spring to fall the gorgeous swimming pool makes the wine-gastronomic enjoyments more special.

Program:
• Lunch at the Cinnamon restaurant
• Wine tasting

After the program we drive back to Budapest.

Short visit to Tihany

Tihany is a village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton on the Tihany Peninsula. The whole peninsula is a historical district.
The center of the district is the Benedictine Abbey, which was founded in 1055 AD by András (Andrew) I, who is buried in the crypt. The
church itself was rebuilt in baroque style in 1754. The still functioning abbey is a popular tourist attraction due to its historical and artistic
significance. It also has the best view of Lake Balaton.
Tihany is famous for the echo, existing since the 18th century. There were poems written for this echo, like by Mihály Csokonai and Mihály
Vörösmarty, but the most famous is by János Garay, summing up the legend of the place. The echo has since abated, due to changes in the
landscape. The other part of the legend concerns with the "goats' nails", washed ashore from Balaton, which are in fact corners of
prehistoric clams. According to the story, there was a princess with golden-haired goats, but she was too proud and hard of heart and was
punished (cursed by the king of the lake): her goats were lost in Balaton, only their nails remained, and she was obliged to answer to every
passers-by. A stone, remembering the Shouting Girl, is still to be seen near the village.

10/ A MEDIEVAL DAY IN THE BEAUTIFUL DANUBE BEND

One of the most spectacular and scenic part of our country is the Danube Bend, 40 km north of Budapest. In fact, it is the most beautiful stretch of
the river's 3000 km course from the Black Forest to the Black Sea.

   Visegrád
Due to its favourable location with the Danube and the rocky hills Visegrád played important strategic role in the lives of the Celts, Avars, Romans
then in that of the Hungarians. The Romans built a fortress here during the reign of Constantine the Great which became a significant part of the
limes along the line of the Danube. Remains of a watchtower at Szentgyörgypuszta and the ruins of a fortress at Gizella manor remind us of this
long gone times. Visegrád meaning high fortress was first referred to in latin documents in 1009. The Mongols destroyed the the first fortress during
their raids in 1241-42. After they left Hungary King Béla IV (1235-1270) built the current fortress.

Program:
Upon arrival guests are welcomed by fanfare on arrival to the tournament.
An introduction is told to the visitors about the history of the town and the castle, while visiting the Solomon's Tower. The roof terrace of the
tower provides an excellent view of the Danube bend, welcome drinks are served here .
The performance takes place on the tournament field located next to the tower. A king and a queen are selected from the guests, they are dressed
in robes and crowned by the knights.
On the call of the king, the knights march in and show their targeting and fighting skills with medieval weapons to the royal couple and their
guests. The realistic face-to-face battles recall the courage and spirit of the medieval knights in an exciting way. Our open-air performances
feature the royal falconer.
Lunch: Royal Feasts are recommended mainly for groups and larger companies, the pre-set menu is served in platters for more people. Unlimited
consumption of red- and white wine as well as soft drinks is always an essential part of the feast.
The entertainment is made by a musician: enjoy the renaissance live music!
After the program we continue to Szentendre.

A team-building style competition is organized in connection with the Knights' Tournament, where guests get to use different weapons of
the age with the help of the knights.
During the competition, guests are divided into teams and get clothes of different colors. Teams have to fight for points at different
stations located in the Lower Castle.

confectionaries of simply to go souvenir-shopping.

Enter into the spirit of the countryside as it was at the end of the 19th century! Handicraft masters work in the houses and yards, sheep bleat in
the detached farmstead, the water mill is crushing grain, and the delicious smell of strudel comes from the bakery…
The Hungarian Open Air Museum – the largest Skanzen in Hungary –, which is 20 km from Budapest and situated in the unique and natural
surroundings of the Duna-Ipoly National Park presents the architectural characteristics, way of life and traditions of different Hungarian regions.

OPTIONAL EXTRA: rally in the Open-Air Museum of Szentendre

The visit is organized as a treasure hunt in the territory of the open-air museum. The whole group is divided into smaller teams, subgroups.
Participants have to complete several tasks, detailed in their road book, in order to get scores. The team that collects the more scores is the
winner. At the end of the game the members of the winner team get a prize (previously decided according to the budget. Some ideas:
Hungarian wine or spirit, photo book of Budapest, CD of the most famous Hungarian composers, etc.).
The main aim of the rally is to get to know the daily lives of Hungarian people from the countryside while having fun and getting closer to the
team members. Team work and ability to cooperate are crucial to defeat other teams.

The rally takes about 3 hours. Teams can orient themselves with the help of a road book, previously given to each group during the briefing.
The road book contains detailed information about all they have to know. Apart from the road book, teams are also given a map of the open
 air museum.
All groups go through the same stations, but follow another itinerary. During the 3-hour-long rally, participants have the possibility to go
through all the 8 legends of the museum. At every legend they have to complete one or more tasks of different level of difficulty.

As part of the rally, participants are going to meet the following task types:

The Trabant is a „low-cost” automobile made by the factury VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau. Back in its time it was the most popular
vehicle in the countries of the communist block, therefore in Hungary too. F

During the acticvity the participants can drive this simbolic car of the communist era themselves, in groups of 2-4 pax (as the client wishes).
The rally starts from a parking outside the city and takes approx 1,5-2 hours. With the help of a map and a detailed itinerary they have to find
certain stops where different tasks and challenges are waiting for them.

We offer you 2 different itineraries:
1) Rally from outside Budapest towards Szentendre. Lunch and visit of the open-air museum, free time in Szentedre.
2) Rally from Gödöllı to the Lázár Equestrian park. Horse show and Hungarian lunch in the Csárda

NB: The rented cars are insured against damage on other cars. But for the damage caused on the Trabant, there is no insurance, so if
the driver of the Trabant causes an accident or damages the car, he has to take the financial responsibility and take the penalty on his
files. We inform you, that there is 0% alcohol tolerance according to the Hungarian law. Persons who drive the cars have to accept
these conditions. Continental Travel declines any responsibility.

                                                                                                                                             21
12/ THE LÁZÁR EQUESTRIAN PARK

OPTIONAL: Journey by nostalgic train
We will transfer the group by coach from the hotel to the central railway station Nyugati (Western).
At the station, fanfar players welcome the participants. To get to the train with steam locomotive, we will cross the Royal
Waiting Hall, used in the past by Sissi and Franz Joseph. During the journey an accodreon player entertains the guests. The
ride to Domonyvölgy takes about 50 minutes.

The Lázár Equestarian Park, 35 km from Budapest and close to the Gödöllõ Royal Palace was established in 1991 in Domonyvölgy. The driving world
championship Lázár brothers brought their dreams to life by uniting the atmosphere of a Hungarian village and high quality Hungarian hospitality
with the excitement of a high quality European horse stable.
In the breath-taking nine -hectare Equestrian Park you can visit the traditional Hungarian farmyard, the competition stables, the Championship
Hall.
Upon arrival guests are welcomed by Hungarian Brandy (pálinka) and then starts the horse show.

The Horse Show programme
Four hand drive, pony driven carriage
Display of nomad warrior archery - archery on horseback, throwing a spear, jumping through fire
Skills of the horsemen – making the horse lie down, cracking the whip, competition between the horsemen
Competition involving the guests – knocking a bottle with the whip
   Cart pulled by four oxen
   Display by funny trained donkey
   Puszta-five
Horse display of „Queen Elizabeth” in costume, sitting side-saddle
After the horse show they are invited to the Csárda (traditional Hungarian-style restaurant) for a typical dinner with Goulash, mixed meat plate and
milk pie. A gypsy band underlines the dinner with well-known melodies.
Olympic Games of the Puszta

For the afternoon we suggest you a team-building activity: the Olympic Games of the Puszta. We divide the team into 2 parts, they will
compete against each other.
Before starting the competition every game is demonstrated by staff of the Lázár Equestrian Park.

Team competition: The others cheer and support thow slaloming among the bales of straw. Later they take the bullhip and knock down (or at
least give it their best shot) a bottle set on a log. Having completed this challenge they then run on to the horseshoe throwing where at least
one horseshow must be thrown into a bucket. They can only proceed if they successfully stand this test. Then they run back to their group
and the next contestant may take their turn. Scoring is in accordance with the individual result.

Barrel riding: Teams of 2-4 can participate. There are four marks on the tree: 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4. The competitor and thus the team score 2
points depending on how far they can pull themselves along the tree with the help of the rope.

Archery: The competitors try to shoot with the help of professional archers. Scoring takes place according to professional rules.

Throwing the pitchfork into a bale of straw: Each contestant has three attempts. You only score a point if the fork remains standing in the
bale.

Further events could be the following: log-throwing, tug-of-war, ‘needle in the haystack’, ‘snail driving’.
A scorer keeps track of the teams’ point and results are announced at the end of the game. Each member of the winning team receives the
bottle of wine bottled to commemorate the Carriage-Driving World Championship.
UNIQUE TRANSPORTATION IN THE CITY…

                             Funicular
The line was opened on March 2, 1870, and has been in municipal ownership since 1920. It was destroyed in the
Second World War and reopened on June 4, 1986. A feature of the line are the two pedestrian foot bridges which
cross above it. These were present when the line opened, were removed in 1900 when the castle's garden was
extended, and rebuilt to the original design in 1983

RiverRide
River Ride is a special sightseeing tour on which you can see the sights of Budapest from a comfortable seat, first
along its busy streets, and then, from one second to the next - to the gasps of some of your fellow travelers - you
splash into the lapping water of the river.
Budapest without the Danube would not be Budapest, and whoever tries it once will never forget the magic of admiring
the view while being gently rocked on the rippling waves. But taking everything in from the deck of a luxury coach
makes the experience even more special. After the watery adventure, climbing back to the river shore, you'll find
yourself once again in the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

                                                                                                                                               24

B/ SZABÓ ERVIN LIBRARY

The beautiful neo-baroque library has been built in 1887. The main building of the Central Library is the former Wenckheim Palace. The Palace
is one of the most important works of the Saxon architect Arthur Meinig. The City Council purchased the building in 1927 with the intent of
establishing the Metropolitan Library. The library is a public lending library today with over 100 branches throughout Budapest. The library has
a magnificent neo-baroque interior. The large wrought-iron gate of the main entrance is a great sample of the XIX century masterpieces.
Beautiful bronze and limestone “Fountain of Justice” in front of the library represents the goddess of justice with her sword and scale. Its
former salons and ballrooms offer an unforgettable possibility for a nice gala dinner reflecting the atmosphere of the 19th centuries’ palaces.

illuminated in the evening. We propose to have 2 pax in each car.

• During the dinner a string orquestra is playing.
C/ DINNER OVER THE DANUBE – EUROPA BOAT

The “Európa” river boat is a contribution to the flourishing business of events arrangement. A ship of this scale exists nowhere else on this
continent. It will add a new, unique sparkle to the hospitality for which Hungary is deservedly famous. The recent refurbishment of the boat,
built in the middle of the last century, has retained the original exterior, but has resulted in an interior that fully meets today’s expectations
both in design and technology. Three of the boat’s 4 decks contain functional facilities.
Own catering!

Program of the evening:
We transfer the group from the hotel to the deck (approx 10-20 min, depending on the chosen hotel)
We offer a welcome drink, which, in case of nice weather can be served on the upper deck
The boat is nicely decorated, a 3 or 4-course dinner is offered to the guests
During the 2-hour cruise guests can admire the iluminated capital: the Chain Bridge, the Castle Area with the Fishermen’s Bastion and the
Matthias Church, tzhe Gellért Hill with the Citadel and the Liberty statue, the Parliament House, the National Theatre, etc...
We propose live music during the dinner. Micheller Myrtill is a charismatic personality, able to create an extremely good atmosphere when she
sings. She performs popular songs in a jazzy style. The two musicians who accompany her frame the program.
D/ GALA DINNER AT THE GERBEAUD HOUSE

Gerbeaud stands on Vörösmarty Square, with a complete offer of modern hospitality. Today, the Gerbeaud House provides the widest range of
event facilities in Budapest, and offers virtually all types of dining and catering. Leave the task to the experienced experts at Gerbeaud House,
and do what is the most comfortable for you.
for more than 150 years Gerbeaud has defined what we know as a café and confectionery. Our fame is due in part to our creative confectioners
who, in addition to guarding tradition, continually surprise our guests with new products, cakes, pastries.

Program of the evening:
Arrival to gerbeaud by bus (either on foot, depending on the hotel)
At the entrance fire eaters welcome the group
We offer a glass of champagne/white wine/orange juice as welcome drink
Guests will be accompanied to the first floor where dinner will be served in the connecting halls, by the exquisite catering of the House
During the dinner a string quartett entertains the guests, walking around the different halls. As a surprise, we suggest a singing waiter who
   will perform opera arias.
At the end of the dinner we walk downstairs to the Atrium hall, where we organise a discothequet with DJ and cocktail bar

ATT: dinner can be organised in the Atrium Hall too

                                                                                                                                             29
E/ GALA DINNER IN THE GELLÉRT BATH

Files dating from the 15th century, tell about a"magic" water that is located in the bath. This place then became the favorite place of the Turks
due to the abundant water that was warmer than in any other bath of Buda.
The actual building of the spa and the hotel were built in 1918.
The visitors enter the spa under a long arch, luxuriously decorated .This lead them to the central hall of the resort, 64 meters long and 11
meters wide, covered with colored glass. This recalls an old Roman spa.

Evening Program:
Arrival at the spa by coach
We enter the baths at part of the main pool. In the gallery, just above the pool is served the welcome drink: a glass of champagne, white
wine, juice… During the reception, the guests can watch the synchronized swimming show.
After the show, we go to the main room of the building where the assembly is prepared for a Gala Dinner: round tables, elegant colors,
floral decorations, every details make the place even more special.
The menu is served by one of the best caterers in the city.
To entertains the guests during the dinner we suggest Csilla Szentpeteri, a beautiful young pianoist. Her name is among the best of the
classical music, but she is not satisfied with the beaten track. She is a restless musician, who is able to renew herself. Her unique concerts
multiplied the number of music friends...
After dinner we can make use of the venue: guests can stay and enjoy the spa facilities…

After the dinner we transfer the guests back to the hotel

                                                                                                                                              30
F/ ARTISTIC GALA DINNER AT THE FINE ARTS MUSEUM

The Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest (Szépmüvészeti Múzeum), located in the most symbolic square of the city, Heroes Square, is one of
the most important and visited museums in the city. It was inaugurated by Emperor Franz Joseph on 1st December 1906. The Museum of
Fine Arts was designed in neoclassical style by architects Herzog and Albert Schickedanz Fülöp.
The portico with its 8 columns inevitably recalls Greece and Rome.
The interior architecture of the museum is no less amazing and is worth the visit.
In the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest are exhibited works of art from painters such as Raphael, Picasso, Tiepolo, Cézanne and El Greco. In
addition to the paintings and sculptures, the museum also exhibits classical objects from Greece, Rome and Egypt.

G/ GALA DINNER AT THE NOSTALGY PARK, A TRULY UNIQUE VENUE

OPTIONAL: Journey by nostalgic train, exclusively reserved for the group.
We will transfer the group by coach from the hotel to the central railway station Nyugati (Western).
At the station, fanfar players welcome the participants. To get to the train with steam locomotive, we will cross the Royal Waiting Hall, used
in the past by Sissi and Franz Joseph. The royal couple waits for us in the hall and is willing to take pictures. We offer a glass of
champagne /orange juice.
The journey to the Locopark takes about 15-20 minutes.

LOCOPARK – Hungarian Railway Museum
After the foundation on 1999 (on the site of the former Budapest North Depot of the Hungarian State Railways) it was opened (as Europe’s first
interactive railway museum) on July 2000, displaying over a hundred railway vehicles and equipment of varying ages on a site of over 70.000
m2. Fortunately the North Depot’s 1911 roundhouse remained intact and its 34 bays provided an ideal home for the operational vintage fleet.
(eg : this includes a steam engine built in 1870, among fifty other engines, some of them are operational and restored, plus a wide range of
rolling stock : railcars, self-powered rail and hand-cars…)

                                                                                                                                           32
Program of the evening:

 Evening Program:
The guests arrive at the Locopark by the nostalgic train or by bus.
Between the train/bus and the entrance we put candles and lights to show the way.
In the garden we welcome you with a surprise: a fire acrobatic show with drums. In the darkness, we only see the the dance of the fire.
After this spectacular introduction we enter the room. It is a train shed that will be a gala dinner room for that night. The contrast between
the building and the decor adds to the place something really unique and particular.
We will have a 3 or 4 course menu, from one of the best caterers of the city.
During the dinner you will be entertained by the „Vegas Show Band”, a group of 8 musicians. In their repertory are songs from the 70’s until
 today.

As special entertainment between the dishes we propose the following:
The production of the Golden Pyramid is truly dizzying. The group is formed by 2 men and 1 woman completely covered in gold. They
move very slowly with the beat of the music forming different figures, like a group of golden statues, For this, they need to be in perfect
harmony. The group won the special prize at the Circus Festival in Budapest and in Enschede. They also presented the award for
journalists (Award for Best Acrobatic Act) in "The Louis Knie Circus„.
Sand animation: as Mr Ferenc Cako was making animation movies, his show was getting more and more successful in Hungary and also
on international scenes. His show consists in drawings /paintings made of sand, in the rhythm of music, and projected on two huge
screens. With his drawings, which change every second, one becoming another one, he tells stories without words. Ferenc Czako
traveled the world with his show, performing at social events, opening ceremonies, world fairs, theater and opera.
After dinner it is possible to organize the evening in a nightclub, with cocktail bar.

                                                                                                                                              33

Incentive ideas in budapest by aktiv tours

  • 1. AKTIV TOURS - Your DMC in Hungary Ideas for incentive groups
  • 2. Your destination: Budapest HUNGARY - 1100 YEARS IN THE HEART OF EUROPE Our country is less than 100.000 square km, our language is not spoken anywhere else, our folk songs do not resemble those of anyone else. Yet we have been living in the centre of Europe for more than 1100 years. Despite a history of varying fortunes which devastated both its people and its cultural assets and treasures, Hungary retains a valuable cultural and environmental heritage, which people come from all parts of the world to enjoy. The capital city, Budapest, "Pearl of the Danube", with its wonderful panorama, has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. After Iceland, this is where the world's largest quantity of surface thermal water can be found: the healing waters of several hundred springs help thousands of people recover their health. The largest lake in Central Europe, Lake Balaton, is a paradise for families with small children, for yachtsmen and for lovers of the beach. 2
  • 3. Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport The following airlines operate at Budapest Airport: Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport was established in 1942 and has been renovated in modern style in the last few years. The airport is located within the boundary of Budapest, in the south- east part of the city. Transfer time from the airport to the city centre is around 30 minutes, but of course it depends on traffic in Budapest, which is the highest usually from 8 am to 10 am and 6pm to 8 pm during the week. The airport is divided into 2 parts: Terminal A and Terminal B, located one next to the other. 3

  • 5. 2/ COOKING COURSE IN THE GRAND MARKET HALL The group will be divided into smaller teams, and the cooking course starts with a prepared shopping list. Each team will have to buy the ingredients the market (to make the program even more exciting, the list is written in Hungarian!). The course begins with the cleaning and peeling of the ingredients, everybody uses the raw materials purchased by his or her own team. Typical Hungarian dishes, such as the famous Gulyás soup are on the menu. The main attraction of the competition is the preparation of the dessert, the pancakes. The winner is the one who can turn the pancake in the air, without it landing on the floor. At the end of the cooking course the guests can taste the dishes made by themselves. During the meal a small band plays popular melodies of internationally known Hungarian composers, operettas and other classics. 5
  • 6. 3/ TREASURE HUNT IN BUDA OR PEST We would like to suggest a very funny activity that allows the guests to discover Budapest by themselves, in a different way... The main objective of the activity is to get to know the Hungarian capital, getting through all the check-points and arrive to the end of the itinerary, achiving the most possible points, of course... We will divide the group into smaller team (of 5-10 pax each). Every team receives a small package, with instructions for the game, itinerary, map, tickets for public transportation, etc... During the activity participants will pass by the most important monuments of the city, answer questions related to budapest and Hungary, get to know Hungarian specialities, meet the most caracteristics of our country, etc... The award ceremony will be held in the evening, during the dinner. The winner team is going to receive gifts. 6
  • 7. 4/ BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN House of Terror is a museum located at Andrássy út 60. in Budapest, Hungary. It contains exhibits related to the fascist and communist dictatorial regimes in 20th century Hungary and is also a memorial to the victims of these regimes, including those detained, interrogated, tortured or killed in the building. From the House of Terror Museum we continue our tour to the Statue Park. Following the topic of the tour we suggest as transportation a real communist car: the TRABANT. The Trabant is a „low-cost” automobile made by the factury VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau. Back in its time it was the most popular vehicle in the countries of the communist block, therefore in Hungary too. Its body was fenoplast (phenolic resin) and its motor, two-cylinder two-stroke. It had space for 4 persons and luggage, it was compact, light and long-lasting. Of the very few cars the people from the Eastern countries had access to, the Trabant was the cheapest. To have one people had to sign up for a list and they wait approximately 10 years to get it. Statue Park Displayed in the Park are 42 pieces of art from the Communist era between 1945 and 1989, including allegorical monuments of "Hungarian- Soviet Friendship" and "Liberation", as well as statues of famous personalities from the labour movement, soldiers of the Red Army and other gigantic pieces: Lenin, Marx, Engels, Dimitrov, Captain Ostapenko, Béla Kun and other "heroes" of the communist world. 7
  • 8. 5/ BUNKER TOUR IN BUDAPEST If you are looking for adventure with historical atmosphare the bunker tour is waiting for you! Sirens screaming through the dark and quiet night. Tens of thousands people woke with a start, jumped out of their beds, grabbed their pre- packedemergency bags, put out all the lights, blacked out their flats and routinely rushed to the nearest designated shelter. When the air raid was over, people left the shelters, started removing the debris and resumed their ’normal’ lives but everyone knew that the story would be repeated in a couple of days’ time. There are 3,400 air raid shelters in Budapest today. Thank God, they have no function today but some 70 years ago, these shelters witnessed terrible scenes and countless human tragedies. Unlike most bunker tours, which are short (typically one-hour-long) visits focusing on a particular bunker, these bunker tours provide a general overview and a complex approach to a period when the bunkers were actually in use. The tour is organized on the territory of the largest and by far most important industrial site of Hungary, Csepel Works (formerly Weiss Manfréd Works). Csepel Works (formerly: Weiss Manfred Works) is the biggest plant in Hungary. It is situated in the south of Budapest, on Csepel island on the Danube. During the three-hour-long tour a number of interesting topics are presented and discussed and you can listen to some exclusive videos prepared with elderly people who survived World War II. While walking along the roads and side-roads of the huge site, we learn about the history of the plant. Then we learn about bombings (from the very beginning to the 1940s) and about the different methods of ground and air defence, methods which were all seriously considered at that time but may seem rather ridiculous and absurd today. Enjoy an adventurous bunker tour in Budapest while you can visit the most important places, buildings and bunkers from the times of the cold war and the world war in Hungary. Feel the frightening atmosphere of the 40’s and 50’s.
  • 9. 6/ FASHION SHOW AT THE YBL VILLA The YBL Villa has been renowned as one of the most beautiful villas of Buda for the past 150 years. The ancient monumental building surrounded by a native tree park – as its name suggest - comes from the hands of Miklós Ybl: designed by József Hild for the then owner Antal Rósa, it was most probably Ybl who finished the construction. Art historian Ervin Ybl, who was the correspondent of the fine arts section of the Budapest Hírlap, thought that after the Vigadó in Pest this was the most exquisite and harmonious romantic premises. The villa was the first sign of the neo renaissance movement in the capital. This is underlined by the harmonic building structure and lavish renaissance lodge. The building apart from the few small refurbishment of the past century holds its original glorious design. The three floors of the villa delegates the guests into the world of exclusivity and elegance. Every element and tool of sumptuousness is present on this 800 square meters: from the tarnished cellar with its spectacular wine vault through the three glorious ensuite salons of the mezzanine to the enchanting comfort the luxury guest rooms of the first floor – everything is about quality. As awaited the decoration is neat and gentle. The furniture brought from London and Paris all in the style of Louis XV. and XVI. are in perfect harmony with the masterpieces of 19th century Hungarian painters. Antal Ligeti’s Italian inspiration landscape paintings dress the welcome salon, whereas the walls of the small and large salons give space to classical romantic landscape pieces and elegant portraits of aristocrats from the old days, respectively. 9

  • 12. 8/ GASTRONOMICAL TRIP TO ETYEK Whenever a friendly company starts talking about wine and wine-growing regions, they are more and more likely to mention Etyek and its environs in addition to Tokaj, Eger and Badacsony. However, maybe fewer people know that this is mainly a re-discovery rather than a discovery because - up to the beginning of the 1880s - farmers in Etyek planted vineyards on more than 400 hectares. Despite this fact, the Etyek Wine Area is one of the youngest wine-growing regions in the country. The vineyards - stretching over 1600 hectares from Bicske up to Pákozd - were granted the wine region rank in 1990. The new wine act of 1997 modified its name to Etyek-Budai Borvidék (Etyek-Buda Wine Area). The village is located to the North from Budapest, at about 45-minute drive. Ham and pálinka tasting Visit the “Gammon-master” and taste the delicious gammons, which are made in Etyek and mellow nearly one year long. The owner lives in the middle of the beautiful vineyards and picturesque surroundings, with nice people in the neighborhood. The old peasant furniture, smiling images of the ancestors, old pots, candle holders, inspiring nostalgia in everyone. After the delicious gammon taste, we invite you to visit the Pálinka House in the neighbourhood. You will visit first the manufactory to learn how the production of Pálinka happens. After that you have the opportunity to taste a few sort of pálinkas as well. Believe us, you will not regret it. 12

On the outskirts of Budapest, just 30 minutes from the city centre, you can enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of Haraszthy Vallejo Winery. This place is more than just a winery. One of the best places for wine and food lovers and also for those who simply want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In the Cinnamon Restaurant or in the Knight Hall surrounded by barrels and the wine library, you will have the three wine professionals at your service; the Wine Maker, the Sommelier and the Chef. In the moment of entrance our guests are touched by the pleasant, warm feeling, raised by Mediterranean and modern elements, the contrast of the sandstone wall from Sóskút and granite floor from Brazil. The contours of the processing, bottling and shop building are tamed and toned down by the surrounding, green areas of lawn. The concept and attitude of the owners defines the everyday life of the winery and gives us an elegant environment with a cozy atmosphere. The still functioning abbey is a popular tourist attraction due to its historical and artistic significance. It also has the best view of Lake Balaton. Tihany is famous for the echo, existing since the 18th century. There were poems written for this echo, like by Mihály Csokonai and Mihály Vörösmarty, but the most famous is by János Garay, summing up the legend of the place. The echo has since abated, due to changes in the landscape. The other part of the legend concerns with the "goats' nails", washed ashore from Balaton, which are in fact corners of prehistoric clams. According to the story, there was a princess with golden-haired goats, but she was too proud and hard of heart and was punished (cursed by the king of the lake): her goats were lost in Balaton, only their nails remained, and she was obliged to answer to every passers-by. In their repertory are songs from the 70’s until today. As special entertainment between the dishes we propose the following: The production of the Golden Pyramid is truly dizzying. The group is formed by 2 men and 1 woman completely covered in gold. They move very slowly with the beat of the music forming different figures, like a group of golden statues, For this, they need to be in perfect harmony. The group won the special prize at the Circus Festival in Budapest and in Enschede. They also presented the award for journalists (Award for Best Acrobatic Act) in "The Louis Knie Circus„. Sand animation: as Mr Ferenc Cako was making animation movies, his show was getting more and more successful in Hungary and also on international scenes. His show consists in drawings /paintings made of sand, in the rhythm of music, and projected on two huge screens. With his drawings, which change every second, one becoming another one, he tells stories without words. Ferenc Czako traveled the world with his show, performing at social events, opening ceremonies, world fairs, theater and opera. After dinner it is possible to organize the evening in a nightclub, with cocktail bar. 33
