JVC DLA-RS66u 3D Home Cinema 4K Projector
JVC's original D-ILA imaging technology
JVC DLA-RS66u is loaded with features and has the most impressive specs you'll
find anywhere. But when you come right down to it, it's really all about the
picture quality—what you see on the screen—that counts. That's why JVC focuses
first and foremost on the image. And it's our core technology—D-ILA—that
enables us to deliver the very highest quality projector. D-ILA is the most refined
form of Liquid Crystal on Silicon available. We design and manufacture our own
chips which gives us total control over the overall picture quality.
D-ILA projectors are characterized by natural pixel-free film-like images with
smooth gray scales and rich, highly accurate colors. D-ILA chips have a scatter free
display surface that delivers an extremely high native contrast ratio. D-ILA chips
have no spatial dithering that causes noise in the low black levels. The gray levels
are smooth and continuous and replicate the signal levels accurately.
JVC exclusive e-shift2 technology for upconverted 3840 x 2160 (4K) precision
e-Shift is an innovative JVC technology that allows us to build a projector with 4
times the resolution using much of our existing infrastructure, keeping the
projector small and affordable. All of this results in a picture with significantly
improved contrast, and more natural color tones than on previous models.
2. Using e-Shift, the original 1920 x 1080 signal is processed with a correlation
detection algorithm to uncover detail that can be enhanced on a 4K display. With
e-shift2, a much wider area is sampled—12 times as many pixels than
previously—which results in improved edge transitions, zero aliasing and stairstepping, and a significant increase in contrast in detailed areas. New sub pixels
are generated based on this detection and a 3840 x 2160 frame is created and
enhanced. Our new 8 band analysis filter delivers much more accurate smoothing
and enhancement than the previous 2 band filter. The enhanced 4K frame is then
temporally separated into subframes 1920 x 1080 pixels each and projected using
a the D-ILA optical system through the e-Shift2 device. The original e-Shift device
used liquid crystals to shift the subframes by 0.5 pixel both vertically and
horizontally.
Incredible native contrast ratio: 130,000:1
For years, JVC has led the industry with projectors that produce the highest native
contrast ratio. The DLA-RS66 is built around a newly designed optical engine with
even higher contrast than previous models. An upgraded wire-grid polarizer
reduces stray light caused by reflections and helps increase the native contrast
ratio to a stunning 130,000:1 --the industry's highest. When we say "native
contrast ratio" we're talking about the intrinsic ability of the projector to show
the complete range of image contrast simultaneously, in every frame. There is no
dynamic iris to artificially inflate contrast specifications.
3D Performance Improved for 2013
There's nothing like 3D to pull you into the scene. The DLA-RS66 uses the frame
3. sequential method which provides separate left-eye and right-eye images through
synchronized active shutter glasses. 3D performance has been significantly
improved with a new cross-talk canceler. Images are nearly 20% brighter than
previous models thanks to improvements in the optical system.
The DLA-RS66 is compatible with a wide range of 3D signals provided via Blu-ray
or set-top box through its HDMI 1.4a inputs. Signals formats may include full L/R
HD (frame packing) including 1080/24p and 720/60p side-by-side.The DLA-RS66 is
equipped with a parallax adjustment that allows the user to control the horizontal
offset between the two channels for the most pleasing effect.
2D-3D Converter Built-in
The DLA-RS66 performs real-time conversion of 2D high definition video sources
into high quality, impactful 3D thanks to industry-first algorithms developed by
JVC. Our 2-D/3-D technology is by far the most advanced and efficient real time
conversion technology that exists. It's featured in our leading professional 3D
image processor, the IF-2D3D1, used in the conversion of films and TV shows.
User adjustments are provided to control depth and sub-titles.
7-axis Color Management System
The DLA-RS66 features a 7 axis Color Management System which interpolates R,
G, B, C, M, Y, and Orange individually. It allows adjustment of color phase, chroma
saturation, and brightness. By adding Orange to the Color Management System,
JVC has succeeded in expanding the color range.
Film Tone Mode Function
Film Tone is JVC's high performance function which allows brightness adjustment
while maintaining film quality. Previously, adjusting the brightness resulted in a
floating black level. JVC has solved this issue by developing the Film Tone
function.
HDMI Input Level function
HDMI Input Level allows the user to check input HDMI level by displaying four
different samples: Standard(16-235), Enhanced (0-255), Super white(16-255), 0
level on screen.
4. Remote Terminals
The DLA-RS66 is supplied with terminals for HDMI, Trigger, Remote Control and
LAN. Third party control systems can send control commands via a LAN
connection. RS-232C allows for control by leading commercial external
controllers. A trigger terminal is provided that signals an optional anamorphic
Lens to stretch the screen to a 2.35:1 aspect ratio or can also be used to control a
motorized screen.
Lens Memory Function
The DLA-RS66 has 10 memories for lens offset, focus and zoom. This allows you to
set a constant height and use the same projection screen for 1.78, 1.85 and 2.35
aspect ratios without an anamorphic lens. Your pre-assigned aspect settings are
called up by pressing the "lens memory" button on the remote control.

Panasonic PT-DZ680S 1-Chip DLP Projector
6. DESCRIPTION:
Panasonic PT-DZ680S 1-Chip DLP Projector from Panasonic, featuring a duallamp system, is compact but powerful. This WUXGA projector is suitable for a
wide variety of applications, from education and business to museums.
The RGB Booster ensures vivid, colorful images, and the original Eco Filter
eliminates the need for filter replacement for up to 12,000 hours. A host of
terminals and advanced management functions provide enhanced system
flexibility.
High Brightness with High-Power AC Lamp
The high-efficiency light convergence technology and the color wheel work
together to achieve the high brightness of 6,000 lm for the projector. Clear, crisp
images are reproduced even in bright rooms.
RGB Booster Significantly Improves Color Reproduction
The RGB Booster achieves high image quality with levels of color reproduction
and brightness that make each color stand out. It combines Panasonic's Vivid
Color Control technology with the Lamp Modulation Drive System for a 1-chip DLP
projector that produces bright and vivid colors.
Vivid Color Control
This control technology optimizes the use of the color segment areas of the color
wheel. It increases the brightness of each RGB color by minimizing the
unallocated portions between the colors, to achieve truly vivid coloring.
Lamp Modulation Drive System
With the advanced lamp modulation technology, the projector is able to control
the lamp intensity for each of the red, green, blue, and white segments of the
color wheel separately. Because the actual light output is controlled in relation to
each color segment, light usage is optimized and color balance is obtained
without lowering the brightness. This results in bright vivid images with increased
color fidelity.
Detail Clarity Processor Brings Depth and Clarity to Detail
This advanced image-processing circuit analyzes the video signal frequency range
for each scene by extracting data on the distribution of high-, mid-, and low-
7. frequency components, and brings out fine details accordingly. The resulting
images have a natural, 3D appearance with crisp, clear detail.
System Daylight View 2 for Enhanced Color Perception
Image details are less clear when a projector is used in a room with the lights on.
Panasonic's System Daylight View 2 improves brightness perception by adjusting
the sharpness, gamma curves, and the color corrections. This produces crisp,
stunning images with vivid colors even under bright conditions.
DICOM Simulation Mode
This imaging mode is similar to DICOM part 14, which is a medical imaging
standard. It reproduces X-ray images with remarkable clarity.
