8. Reflection
My educational experience has been an interesting and thorough journey. I
have had extensive exposure in the fields of cognitive abilities in the fields of
critical thinking and information literacy, understanding research methods,
written communication skills, ethical and diversity issues in the field of
psychology, and interpersonal effectiveness. Psychology itself is an overall
life-long learning experience. I love learning and applying new and old
theories, as well as challenging those theories to modern circumstances. I
have gained a personal interest in overt behaviors and operant conditioning
and how they apply to current behaviors. The more I learn the more passion
I gain for the subject. Psychology will continue a learning experience
because I plan to be an educator I will continue to learn and keep that
passion
9. Reflection
My strengths include my extensive experience in reviewing research materials.
During my course in Advanced General Psychology, PSY492 UB, at Argosy
University our final assignment was to present a collegiate review of
research over a topic of choice pertaining to psychology and society. My
strengths also include written communication skills. According to Argosy
University (2010) effective extensive experience in written communication
skills includes exhibiting the ability to develop and apply appropriate levels of
conciseness and clarity in content, language use, grammar, organization
using APA formatting (2010). Because my studies are on a collegiate and
professional level and have been so throughout my college learning career I
have had more than enough practice in these fields to feel confident to be
called efficient. Argosy also includes extensive exposure pertaining to the
ability to develop, apply and defend a particular stance related to
psychological concepts in written work (2010).
10. Reflection
My weaknesses include my moderate exposure to oral presentations and
communication. The studies have been mainly focused on written
presentation of material. Presenting information orally has always been a
struggle for me. I have overcome a speech impediment during my high
school studies but the thought of speaking in front of even a small group of
people is a fright I have still not overcome fully. I am currently working with a
speech coach to help improve these obstacles. Another weakness I have
encountered is performing actually research on a professional level. I have
had experience in performing diminutive student surveys for basic
psychology courses. Such surveys consisted of straightforward yes or no
question formats to obtain information concerning the topic. I would like to
become more experienced in performing research which I hope to
accomplish in my graduate studies.

13. My Future in Learning
Lifelong learning is self explanatory—the more you
experience life the more you learn. The world is
always changing and with it, so are the people. In
regards to psychology, how people react and
respond to the changing environment will also
change which means new theories and
developments in psychology are forming. Lifelong
learning does not only include schooling. One
continues to learn even after schooling has ended.
My goal of being an educator embraces lifelong
learning and will keep my enthusiasm for learning
and teaching lively through the ever changing
learning/teaching cycle.
