3. Introduction:
CIPFP Batoi is a Public Vocational Education College.
It
is
funded
by
the
Department of Education, Training and Employment
of the Valencian Community Government in Spain.
You can watch some of our new premises
this
video clip made by some of our students.
This year 2013-2014, we are 111 teachers and over
1,700 students.
4. Our town:
Alcoy is a medium-size town with over 61,000 residents,
located in the Valencian Community, in the east of
Spain.
Its
most
famous
celebration
is
the
"Moors
and
Christians" festival, in April.
It has mild winters and hot summers. It's quite close to
the mountains and at about 40 minutes by car from the
seaside.
The closest airports are Alicante Airport (65 km) and
Valencia Airport (120 km)
5. Studies:
We offer a wide range of courses in two levels:
Intermediate Courses for 16+.
* They are Vocational Upper Secondary studies and belong to level
ISCED 3.
* To gain access to these intermediate courses, students are asked
to have the Compulsory Secondary Certificate, so that they are at
least 16 years old.
* These students can take part in Leonardo da Vinci Mobility
projects with other European countries.
6. Studies:
Advanced Courses for 18+.
* They are considered as Short-cycle Higher Education, level ISCED 5B.
* To enter these courses, students need to have completed successfully the Spanish
"Bachillerato" or equivalent, so they are 18+ when they begin.
* Here, students can apply for Erasmus grants to study or have their traineeships in
other European countries.
Mature students can also gain entry after passing special exams which are focused on
the contents of each type of course.
Most courses are 2 yr FT and include about 400 hr of on-the-job training in the last term
of the second year. And students have to do that traineeship to obtain their diploma.
