7. Immigration vs humanitarian program
• Australian immigration 2009-2010:

10. Government Education
• Minimum of 6 months intensive English language tuition for
newly arrived migrant school students and 12 months for
refugee school students.
• Intensive English language tuition is provided in Intensive
English Centres in metropolitan areas or within schools.
• Where tuition is provided in schools, students are expected
to receive a minimum of 10 hours of ESL assistance per
week.
