Reference: Tom Perry
I am the Managing Director of JPR Motorsport and the Championship Director of the Fun Cup
championship. The Fun Cup is Europe’s largest endurance motor racing championship and as JPR
Motorsport, we also run and prepare hire cars to compete in each of the championship races. Fun
Cup runs at race tracks across the UK and we also compete at the prestigious Spa Francorchamps
25 hour race, every July (up to 100 Fun Cup cars take part in this event). The purpose of my email, is
to provide you with a reference for Tom Perry, who began his work placement with us in January,
2014.
In our workshop, Tom has worked alongside our Senior Engineer and three other Engineers. His
responsibilities have included assisting them with race preps on our hire cars before each event,
carrying out geometries, removing engines, installing engines, re-building drive-shafts, loading the
trucks before each race and other general race prep, etc. This work is crucial to JPR Motorsport and
the success of our well-established race team. Some of the work Tom has carried out is also
extremely specialised and it is rare that we would provide a student with such tasks. Tom has risen to
the challenge of these hugely important responsibilities and carried out this work to an extremely high
standard. He is able to successfully complete any task he is given and we are always confident that it
will be performed to the best of his ability. He listens to instructions well and works professionally on
his own, or as part of the team. He is highly motivated and a great time-keeper.
At the race events, Tom has helped to set up our hospitality awning and assisted with the general
running of the race cars. He has even run one of our customer cars on two different occasions, which
has included dealing directly with the customers. Again, this is not usually a responsibility which we
would pass on to a student, but Tom has proved his worth in this area. He also joined us at our Spa
25 hour race in Belgium, where he coped exceptionally well with the challenge and dramas of a 25
hour endurance event.
JPR Motorsport would highly recommend Tom. He has fit in superbly and proved himself a great
asset to the JPR team. He has become an extremely valued and well-liked member of our team and
is exceptionally hard-working.
We wish Tom well in the future and will miss having him as part of our team.
