This is my presentation on the casting choices my team and I made for our A2 production. Casting is very important for this film, as if we don't choose the right people, the film could give off the wrong genre and seem almost like a parody.

SPECIAL OPERATIVE

• Ben S is a prestigious actor, with a sizeable repertoire of
films in which he has acted, such as ‘Duty Calls’ and ‘The
Hungry Games’. This elite history of Ben’s made him the
perfect actor for this film as it demonstrates his acting
prowess.
• During the summer holiday, Ben introduced us to Evan Muir’s
YouTube channel. He was eager to join us for a project, as
it takes heavy inspiration. We would turn to Ben for
further consultancy when implementing codes and conventions
found in Evan Muir’s work. As Ben greatly enjoys Evan’s
short films, we felt that he would enjoy acting in our
project.
• Ben’s understanding of the SCP fandom and Evan’s work, has
enabled him to understand what is expected from an actor in
this genre and them. He understands that the special forces
that would be sent to confront a monster/being of
supernatural nature would be elite and uncompromising.
• We gave Ben the role of one the operatives as we were
confident he would understand the themes and conventions we
wanted to be conveyed.

JOE S
SPECIAL OPERATIVE
• Joe is an avid thriller enthusiast, as well as being
very knowledgeable within the military sector. This
was perfect for our film as it meant that we could
refer to him if we had queries about what costuming
to use and what kind of movements special operatives
would do in certain scenarios. Joe’s expertise in
this field was extremely useful. Joe has also
achieved the Gotham Independent Film award for ‘Best
Breakthrough Actor’
• Joe also physically fit our criteria for a special
operative, and his ‘buzz cut’ hairstyle and casual
beard, really helps to portray someone who is
continually out on the fight, and their attention is
focused on the battle/war they are in rather than
anything else.

THE MONSTER

• Amy is an upcoming actor from Esher, who has a sizable
following on social media, was the perfect actor for
this role. Having had experience from previous roles
she has acted in as well as her extensive
participation in stage coach, she has been able to
achieve the Bird’s Eye View award for ‘Best Supporting
Female Role’
• During the casting for our production, we felt that a
female actor would be perfect for the monster as we
could cleverly use the hair and manipulate it to look
paranormal, and not human. Amy is also quite a slim
figure which aids us with the ability
