2. Q1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Mc Tigz – Streets of Rage This is MC TIGZ’ Older Grime Video, we used a similar location because the Genre we chose “Grime” is known for being an underground music genre which is mainly based outside rather than inside a location. This is because it keeps the artist interacted with no social barriers, Shooting music videos at night is away of expressing emotions from the artist to the fans. This is a common strategy for grime artist like MC TIGZ. My Music Video
3. LIGHTING In my music video we used street lights while shooting the video, this was the easiest way of making an effect . The whole idea of making our street video was to keep It simple but to still show the Artists’ personality, the lighting was bright enough for us to see the artist and get a clear footage of him. We kept the artist in the middle of the road most of the time because that was where the street lights are most effective .
4. Costumes Mc Tigz only wore one attire in the music video, which were jeans, trainers and a jacket. I decided to keep his costume simple and focused more on the production. My media product developed forms and conventions of a “Grime” music video because the genre is mainly about the artists’ lyrics and surroundings rather than his attire and appearance. I did not use the same costume for the CD and Website.
5. ARTIST This is as conventional as we made the music video by the artist looking at the camera to interact with the target audience like the Mc Tigz previous video. This allows the artist to talk directly at the audience so they can understand his lyrics a lot more.
12. In the video, website and Digipack the artist uses the same attire through out to show a consistency in promotional pack.
13. Q3: What have you learned from your audience feedback? Feedback – What I Learned from one of my target audience: THE COLOURS USED FOR MY WEBSITE: My target audience didn’t like the fact that I used a black back ground for my website and suggested that I should keep it plain and simple by using a white background instead. THE USE OF SOCIAL WEBSITES: My target audience liked the fact that I put my music video on Facebook & Twitter. I learnt that this was the best way to gain feedback for my music video, I realised that my target audience found it interesting to feedback to me while they used their normal social networking sites. I learnt that my target audience wanted to see less colour and more information about the artist.
14. Q4: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? The different media technologies used…… Used For Feedback Used For Feedback Used To Edit Images Used To Keep Track Of What I Am Doing Used To Make Links For Website Used To Take Pictures
15. Using Flickr Flickr is a website that allows you to upload images, which were the images I used for my website, Digipack and music video.
16. Using Adobe Photoshop I used Photoshop to edit the images I took for MC TIGZ and I was able to edit and change the images anytime I wanted until I was happy with the outcome. Photoshop allowed me to insert font into and set the colour scheme that I wanted for my website. I also used it to make the wording for my links before I imported it into Dreamweaver. I used Photoshop to make my Digipack, this is my final cover.
17. Using adobe dreamweaver I used Dreamweaver to create my website. It was very difficult using dreamweaver because I didn’t know how to use it very well. INDEX NEWS Here I was getting the hang of highlighting and making HTML to link the pages together. These are one of the pages I linked to the index of my website..
18. Conclusion To conclude, I believe my Digipack is part of synergy because it is connected to promote which makes it a package. This is so that media is targeted at the right people. Music Video’s was made so I can promote the track that the artist made, and also to allow the artist to be creative. The Digipack was made so that the target audience had the opportunity to have their own copy of the track. The website was made so that the target audience had a better understanding of the artist and so that can also keep updated.
