2. “Insomnia”
FADE IN:
FILM PRODUCTION LOGO IS SHOWN.
EXT. LOCATION 1 - NIGHT
Film starts of with an establishing shot of the main characters house
at dusk and slowly zooms in towards the window.
Fades to black and the starring actresses name is shown in a white
font in a flickering style.
The window is shown in a stationary close up from quite a low angle.
Fades to black and the name actress of girl one is shown in a white
font in a flickering style.
The shot then changes to a close up of the main characters face
sleeping. She becomes clearly agitated in her sleep (shown by
fidgeting and facial expression)
Fades to black and the name actress of girl two is shown in a white
font in a flickering style.
She is shown sleeping and agitated again.
Fade to black and the ‘Created by’ title in a white font in a flickering
style.
[Shown sleeping again then she wakes up (still at night) turns her
bedside light on and takes out a book from under her pillow and
starts writing]
Fade to black and the ‘edited by’ title in a white font in a flickering
style.
[As she is writing, a scene from what she is writing is shown. (It will
be obvious that this is a flash back by the colouring being slightly
yellowy) The scene shown as she writes will be of two little girls.]

3. Girl one is pushing girl two on a swing, with a scary nursery rhyme
with the recognizable voice of a child singing the lyrics in the
background. A teddy bear is lying on the floor by the trunk of the
tree.
The scene swaps to the main character that is writing.
Swaps to the girls again, girl two is laughing and happy, girl two has a
strait (scary) face shown in a close up.
Swaps back to the main character that is still writing.
Swaps back to the children again showing a similar continuation of
the lastscene.
The scene swaps back to the main character that is still writing and
looks distressed.
Swaps back to the swing again but both children have gone but the
swing remains moving and music remains playing this time with out
the child’s singing the teddy will remain in its place and will be
emphasized with a medium close up.
The scene then changes back to the woman who is writing, a close up
of the book shows how she has just drawn a large question mark.
The screen fades to black and the title ‘INSOMNIA’ is shown on the
screen.
