2. Main activities and
responsibilities
Jack-up rigs located in Persian Gulf, Drill Ship and Pipe Laying Barge
As main duties I am maintaining the rig to DNV classification through the AMOS planned maintenance
system, I am liaising with other departments to ensure the work is carried out in a safe and efficient
manner and I am implementing new changes in the design and standards of the rig
On board I am responsible with entire rig’s maintenance and repair of electrical and electronics
equipment. My activity has involved electronically controlled variable speed drives (Siemens SCR,
Joliet Technologies), NOV drilling equipment, 6KV power generation, trouble shooting low and high
voltage equipment Driller’s Monitoring System Swaco, Top Drive systems (Tesco, Varco), jack-up
systems, Wartsila engines 12v200 type and Caterpilar 3516,3512 and also pipe laying equipment,
Ward-Leonard drives (D.C. motors up to 1,200 hp)
Other jobs involved the maintenance and installation of new equipment on the rig, changing DC
motors for mud pumps, repairs on driller’s console, Top drives, radio equipment and fire & gas
systems.
During my experience I have been also part of a few shipyard projects on drillship, Jack Up rigs and
pipe laying barge. As a part of those teams I was doing inspections on different types of equipment
being in charge on repairing or new installation jobs for all kind of electrical and electronic equipments.
All of above mentioned jobs were done under strict safety policies following by letter the PTW system.
In addition, I am highly self-motivated individual, with strong technical skills and work ethics.

- Experienced in installing, testing, maintaining, fault finding, fixing and modifying wide range of
electrical equipment
- Very good understanding of electrical schematics/diagrams as well as fair interpretation of
pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams
- Good computer skills (Windows OS, MS Office, AMOS maintenance software, Internet as well as
hardware repairing)
- Able to adjust within a multinational/multicultural environment
