In den neuen ERC-Guidelines finden sich die einzelnen Kriterien zur neurologischen Prognose und Mortalität in einem neuen separaten Kapitel. Dazu wurde auch ein einfaches graphisches Schema erstellt, aus dem sich rasch die wichtigsten Eckpfeiler entnehmen lassen.

Seit dem Jahr 2000 basieren diese auf dem «International Consensus
on Cardiopulmonary Resuiscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular
Care Science with Treatment Recommendations» des ILCOR
