4. RECEPTION -
• Visitors and students can easily access this place .
• Provision of two doors , one from the entry vestibule and another from the lobby, can
create a passive security layer to the facility.
• This arrangement passively directs visitors to pass through the office during the off-peak
times when students are not arriving or leaving.

5. WAITING AREAS -
• Waiting area of a building , is where
people sit until the event or
appointment for which they are waiting
begins.
• All the offices are connected through
this.
• Waiting areas , having a large sitting
space should not disturb the
circulation.

• Principal and office rooms should have direct access to the staff work area.
• The office windows should command views of the main entrance and work areas.

7. RECORD ROOM –
• Student Records Room Provide a separate, secure, fire resistant area for storage of
confidential records.

STAFF ROOM –
• Staff room is one of the most important, yet
often neglected areas in the whole school.
• When it comes to priority for maintenance and
refurbishment, teacher’s offices and staff zones
generally fall to the bottom of pile.
• Staff rooms and faculty offices should be
designed in a way that help your staff to perform
to the best of their ability.
8. CONFERENCE ROOM –
• The Conference is used for formal meeting,
training, and teleconference activities.
• A special acoustical design including non-rectilinear
spaces dictated by acoustical properties.
• Visitors as well as the principal should be able to
access this room easily.
• Conference requires flexibility, durable finishes to
anticipate maximum use, and integrated utility lines
• such as voice, data, and power to accommodate a variety of
multimedia presentations and tele- and video- conferences.

ensuring linkage between rooms.

wind direction is identified to adjust internal layout so that the rooms can be planned

36 acre site.

20. CAMPUS LAYOUT
• The planning is based on the concept of main spine
and a secondary spine. The original proposed
entrance off the Delhi-Jaipur highway, was to lead
on to a junction with the main spine and then
further with the secondary spine.
• The academic block would have been the focus of
attention formal entrance had been retained.
Presently, there are two entrances, one is from the
Mehrauli- Gurgaon road while the other one is from
the road connecting the Delhi-Jaipur highway with
the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road.
• The students hostel wings and the academic
complex lie on the main spine. On the secondary
spine lie the chairman’s residence, the staff and
faculty residences, the ancillary block and the club
facilities.
• Building blocks are scattered all over the site,
resulting in large distances.
• Campus has different zones allocated to academic,
residential or recreational functions.

ACADEMIC COMPLEX
The academic complex comprises of the following:
• Administration
• Faculty
• Library
• Auditorium
• Lecture block
• All blocks are double storeyed and have the concerned department
housed in one whole unit
• The academic block has been designed around a system of
courtyards. A large central court leads into smaller internal courts,
which are in turn, encompassed by academic and administrative
functions.
• Singly loaded corridors, which are arcaded and detached from the
building, run along these courts.
• The corridors are 6’0” wide and are separated from the working unit
at places by a level difference.
• The arcaded corridors form interesting circulation areas by framing
views and causing flay of light and shade.
• The academic and the hostel blocks are connected by any covered
pedestrian link.
• A paved pathway connects the blocks

* The student’s accommodation has been planned at
a comfortable distance from the main building.
* Students are encouraged to walk or cycle. At the
center of the students housing is the activity center
with am entities like restaurant, gymnasium,
swimming pool, spa and salon.
* The services planned are in accordance with the
site topography, which minimizes overhead costs.
* The admin block formed the bulk of the design
program. It had to act as the focal point for all
activities and also create the aspirational identity for
the visitor.
* The program extends on the east with the faculty
rooms and lecture theatre blocks juxtaposed with
structural grid system of interconnected spaces.
* The spaces are such as verandahs, open corridors,
terraces and courts at various levels establishing a
link with the outdoors.

* The architecture of the campus is minimalistic yet bold with exposed
concrete as the prima facie material.
* The admin block stands out with a triple height atrium space, which
acts as a gathering space for any kind of formal/informal events. The oval
cut with major to minor axis ratio of the ellipse is 1:1.6 (the golden ratio),
which are splendid identities.
* The lecture theatre is unique in being oval shaped in plan with
appropriate raked seating arrangement, which ensures complete focus
and attention of students and teachers alike.
* The monolithic exposed concrete look is continued as a unifying
element.
* Breakout green zones provide natural outdoors for socializing and act
as comfort zones between buildings congruous with sunlight and
ventilation.
