2. The Purpose of the Project Monitoring and CRM
Software.
• The Purpose of the Software will be to monitor any Project at
Grindrod Locomotives namely; New build Projects, Rebuild
Projects, Capital Maintenance, Repairs; and Critical and
Maintenance Spares Supply & Technical Supervision.
• The main reason to acquire the software was for better
Project Management and finding a way to report back to
customers
• Another motivation behind this was to actually find out how
long it takes to complete a locomotive.
4. • A Job Card/Time Sheet that allows you to see
who completed the Job and How long it takes
to complete the Job.
• I developed a work schedule that Stipulates
what needs to be done at each work Station
on what locomotive every single week.
• This in turn ties in with the excel system that
Leon developed.
The Alternative Solutions that Were made While
waiting to get approval for the suggested software.

6. Acquiring Transport for the Grindrod Locomotives
Staff Members
• The Motivation behind this was to find a way to get the Staff Members
and Customers from the Pretoria Gautrain Station to Grindrod
Locomotives.
• The Steps taken to Try and Make this dream a reality.
• We Approached Gautrain to Try and Get The Gaubus to come this
side.
• Alternatively we proposed that Grindrod Locomotives Invests in a
Staff Carrier in order to provide this Service.
• And Today I can Proudly Say that our Proposal has been approved
and Grindrod Locomotives is in the Process of Purchasing a Staff
carrier.
