Whercrs, it is gxpedient to provide an ordinance in resp€ct of l4corpo.ating a Compulsory Course on
Environmental Snrdies in the Under Craduate Courses offcred under all the Faculties, for the purposes hereinafter
app€aring, the Management council is hereby pleased to make the following ordinance :
l. This ordinance may be called"lncorpo.ating a Compulsory Course on Environmental Studies in the Under
GBduate Coulses offered under all the Faculties. ordinance. 20 I 7".
2. This ordinance shall come into force with effec( from the dat€ of its
makirg by the Management council.

will be refenedto as compulsory course of Six monlhs duration in Envircnmental Studies at the
under-graduate level ofall streams and faculties ofhighcr education under this University and will be taught in
second year with course ofstudy and can be clearcd in the third year with course of study in casc the studcnt/s
remain absent on the scheduled day ofthe examination or fails to pass the course in its first attempt.
4. However excepting the Faculty of Engineering and Technology wherein the aforesaid course shall be taken up
during First Year of course of study and that it can be cleared in the second year of course of study ih case ihe
students rcmain absent on the scheduled day of lhe examination or fails to pass the course in its fiIst atlempt.

environmental studies.
5. Provision of this ordinance will not be applicable to those courses in which the subject on
Envircnmentalscienceshas been incorporated as subject ofstudy and examinations such as B.Sc. (Environmental
Scicnce) and all olber similar cases at the U.G. level."
6. The Principal would appoint Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator as per the need to coordihate the teaching of
the coursc, appoint conttibutory leachers, if necessary. At lhe end ofthe course, the college would conduct the
cxamination. It will appoint paper setters and exahiners. Th€ final gades of candidates should be inform€d to
the University in the prescribed forrnat. The expenditure incurred for all the required manpower and necessary
support services shall be recovered from the remaining amount of fees.
7. Qualifications of a Teacher: A rcacher in any subject possessing rclevant knowlcdge to teach the "Cou$c on
Envircnmental Studies" shall be eligible.
8. This course is also compulsory lbr extemal students. ln case ofextemal studetrts, they can eoroll themselves in
any college for thc aforesaid course and can complete the same.
9. Ttre admitted undergraduate students has to pass in the examination ofthis course in orde. to obtain degree from
tho Affiliating University or rltern.tlvely in lieu of the cntire course, the given students in the batches of 20
may be assigned & project work consisting of People's/Community Bio-div€rsity Registers (PBR/CBRS) of.ny
Cram Panchayat as per format prescribed by Bio-diversity Authority of India undcr thc guidance of a teach€r
which shall be evaluated for 100 marks.

2. The result would be declared in the form of Grades as shown below:
Grade 'O' for score above 75; A:61'75; B:51-60; C:40-50
Annexure- C: Fee Structure
A fee of Rs 150/- per student shall be charged and its utilization is as Rs 25l- to be
deposited with the Affiliate University and Rs l25f to the concemed college for
providing human resource, supporting infrastructure and the administrative expenses
pertinent to the course as approved by the Affiliate University.

This ordinance shall come into force with effec( from the dat€ of its makirg by the Management council. 3. Thi, "ou.r" will be refenedto as compulsory course of Six monlhs duration in Envircnmental Studies at the under-graduate level ofall streams and faculties ofhighcr education under this University and will be taught in second year with course ofstudy and can be clearcd in the third year with course of study in casc the studcnt/s remain absent on the scheduled day ofthe examination or fails to pass the course in its first attempt. 4. However excepting the Faculty of Engineering and Technology wherein the aforesaid course shall be taken up during First Year of course of study and that it can be cleared in the second year of course of study ih case ihe students rcmain absent on the scheduled day of lhe examination or fails to pass the course in its fiIst atlempt. student takihg direct admission to the second year B.E. course shall be exempted from the fees for the course of environmental studies. 5. Provision of this ordinance will not be applicable to those courses in which the subject on Envircnmentalscienceshas been incorporated as subject ofstudy and examinations such as B.Sc. The Principal would appoint Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator as per the need to coordihate the teaching of the coursc, appoint conttibutory leachers, if necessary. At lhe end ofthe course, the college would conduct the cxamination. It will appoint paper setters and exahiners. Th€ final gades of candidates should be inform€d to the University in the prescribed forrnat. The expenditure incurred for all the required manpower and necessary support services shall be recovered from the remaining amount of fees. 7.
