Established in 1975, the International Eastern Wine Competition (IEWC) has been regarded as one the
oldest and largest wine competitions in all of the United States.
By looking at wines produced across the nation and recognizing them for the high quality represented,
this annual event provides winners with an esteemed honor. Sponsored by Vineyard and Winery
Management and selected by a professional judging staff, this competition stacks one wine up against
many others allowing the creator(s) to benchmark their work.
This year, of the 102 wineries that were awarded, six of Maryland’s wineries took home a total of eight
bronze, twelve silver and four gold places.
