4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Description
Efficient management of vessel scheduling and stowage
In charge of the creation and quality maintenance of loading / unloading plans, make sure that vessels
voyage and port operations go smoothly
Plan and monitor vessels safe condition, in close coordination with vessel command
Plan and create coastal schedules, taking overall fuel consumption, draft/trim and port restrictions in to
account.
Handle the communication of the information (ETA and navigation time, information on vessels loading
/ unloading, daily reporting) with the concerned services as well as external partners and customers
(Lines, ships and Terminal).
Monitor vessels speed performance through noon reports, address irregularities in noon report and
voyage departure reports (VDR). Ensure high data quality in reports
Minimize shifting’s, in case shifting is optional ship manager will Bargen with terminal on lease shifting
option
Optimize cargo intake
Optimize trim and draft through optimal stowage; ensuring minimal fuel consumption for the voyage
Responsible for efficient use and optimized value generation of the Stowage Tool
Monitor and validate requests for Out of Gauge (OOG) special containers, and promptly respond to
approval within VSA required frame time
Insure no hazardous materials are loaded without having been approved by the HAZMAT desk
Manage Change of Discharge request, evaluate the feasibility of Changes of Destination (COD)
according to their position on board, following the request of sales teams, Logistics Department and
partners.
Responsible for efficient use and optimized value generation of the voyage optimization tools

Responsible for the BAPLIE EDI quality of UASC operated ships uploaded to the system to support
Capman.
Responsible of update the vessel daily movement report, include all delays and recovery plan
Efficient execution of port operations
Guide Cluster Operations in their dealing with terminals
Ensure that all material equipment improving the productivity and port turnaround times is available, in
connection with Cluster Operation, Terminals and Agents. Internally in connection with the different
parties of the Line and all operational support teams (Cluster Operation, bunker Department …).
Diligently coordinate with Cluster operations to and execute coastal schedules
Validation of port operations reports
Monitor Terminal Departure Reports (TDR), address issues and irregularities to stack holder (Terminal,
local agent, Port Captain, Cluster operation,etc.
Validate planned vs. actual: moves, crane split, draft and shifting

7. BOUNDARIES & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
Limited supervision required
Perform and cover Snr Ship Manager tasks, when on leave as decided by Snr. Ship Manager
The job holder should be available 24/7 on call
8. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Postgraduate degree (+4/5 years) in Nautical Science (Nautical collage) or combined 2-3 years’
experience as Planner / Stowage coordinator in Terminal planning / Operation.
Minimum Experience:
At least 4 – 5 years’ experience in Ship Management
2 – 3 years’ experience as Planner / Stowage coordinator in Terminal planning / Operation
Professional experience as a Deck officer (2nd/chief Officer) and / or terminal or similar experience in
vessel operation
Significant experience in containerization, general cargo and container terminal industry
Hazmat advance knowledge
