Escape top emotional intelligence traps and hack team culture David Papini
aXis Member Orientation
1. WELCOME TO AXIS ORIENTATION
It is the responsibility of each member to know
the information contained in this presentation.
Therefore do not skim or skip sections, it will
only hurt you as a clan member to not have this
information. It is not very long (~15 slides).
2. OUR CORE VALUES
• Respect, Maturity, and Fairness
• These values make us who we are and these are the type of people we
have and want in our clan. You must display these qualities AT ALL
TIMES regardless of the situation that arises. Never talk down to any
player in any circumstance
• Read our Code of Conduct:
http://www.axisclan.com/images/COC.jpg
• YOU are responsible for your actions. Don’t retaliate and lower yourself
to someone who is being rude or angry, even if it’s directed at you.
“I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the
garbage man or the president of the university”
Albert Einstein

3. RESPECT
• Respect is the first and foremost requirement of this clan.
• Golden Rule: treat others as you want to be treated; and be
tolerant.

fairness.
• See them here: http://www.axisclan.com/server-rules
• The server will auto-warn for second chance, the use of tubes
or grenade launchers, and most language.
• We do not ban swearing only disrespectful language
• If someone has said something disrespectful that the language filter
does not pick up it is up to you to warn them
• KNOW our server rules, as a member it is your responsibility to
uphold them.

• There is a section called “Going away” on the forum – post there if you
will be gone for more than a week.
• Inactive Process:
• After 30 days you will be sent an email asking if you are coming back.
You will now be an “inactive” member, but will receive an additional 30
days to reply.
• After 60 days of inactivity and no notice we assume you are no longer
interested and you will be removed from the clan roster.

have been relatively inactive it will be at the discretion of the upper level

6
7. BLACK OPS CTF SERVER COMMANDS
• NEVER USE COMMANDS IN A JOKING MANNER
• For example: !warn Phoenix stop being so good
• See here to learn how to properly use server commands:
http://axisclan.com/community/index.php?/topic/9-how-to-
use-commands-in-the-server/
• If you have a question just ask in that thread
• This thread will also help – it contains short-hands you can use to
make your life easier:
http://axisclan.com/community/index.php?/topic/1172-shortcodes-
shorthands/
7
8. RESERVED SPACES: BO CTF SERVER
• If the server is full, as a member you have the privilege of
getting a spot.
• To get in a full server see here:
http://axisclan.com/community/index.php?/topic/20-reserved-
spaces-join-a-full-server/
• Check frequently for password changes
• Out of courtesy you MUST ask another member already in the
server for a slot #.
• We do not like to kick out other members or regulars.
• Failure to do this may result in repercussions.
8
9. PLAYER INFRACTIONS
• Dealing with players who do not follow our server rules is a
very important topic. How we treat players that enter our
server define who we are as a clan.
• Think: have you been to a server where the admins have been
immature, rude, or unfair? Do you want to go back there?
• To keep in line with our core values we have laid out a specific
player infraction procedure:
http://axisclan.com/community/index.php?/topic/731-player-
infraction-procedure/
• If you do not follow this procedure it may result in the loss of admin
rights in the server for you
9
10. HACKERS
• We do not condone any type of hacking in any game. Anyone
we catch hacking will be reported to the developers of the game
who take action to ban these players.
• To do this we need a hackers steam url:
http://axisclan.com/community/index.php?/topic/1294-reporting-
hackers-to-pcdev/
• As a member of this clan, if you are caught hacking in any
game you will be immediately dismissed from the clan and
reported to the game developers. We do not make exceptions
for members.
10
11. MEMBER CONTRACT
• A set of rules that you must agree to being part of this clan.
This is our way of knowing you fully understand what we
expect from you as an aXis clan member.
• You need to read the first post in this thread and then sign to it. If
you do not agree with something then we may not be the clan for
you. If you feel there is something wrong you can always approach
an admin.
member-contract-every-member-must-sign/
11
12. BEING A COMMUNITY
• Being part of a clan shouldn’t mean you just wear our tags and
play in our server. You are really missing out. Get the full
experience of being in a clan and how great and fun it can be.
• Get on the forums
• They are our primary forum of communication. It is how we grow
comradery and our community, and keeps us together.
• Get on TeamSpeak
• It doesn’t matter what you are playing, get in there and talk with
people.
• If no one is in there go anyway – someone might see you and join
you.
• Go into the channel for the game you are playing – again someone
might see you and join you.
• Communication in game always increases the experience.
12
13. INTERCLAN ISSUES
• If you have a problem with another member:
• DO NOT be openly critical infront of others
• Don’t call them out in server, on TeamSpeak, or on the forums.
• Try to resolve it privately with that member – if that doesn’t
work or you are uncomfortable doing so then seek an admin.
• If you hear of a situation between a member and either another
member or a non-member DO NOT try to resolve it yourself.
• For example: a non-member reports an aXis member being rude to
them
• You most likely do not have all the facts
• Just track down an admin and apprise them of the situation
