(Andy Ekins, University of Kent) An information gathering session from the user community on what it is they require in terms of simplified and comprehensive guidance around the set-up, configuration, and testing of Devolved Constraints (DC) in Aspire. To aid this session it would be good if institutions could prepare by thinking about what it is they would like to achieve in implementing DC within their Tenancy and what guidance they would require in order to help them in this process.

- This session is on the complete idiots guide to Devolved Constraints. The only problem is the guide doesn't exist.
- So what should the table of content look like for this idiots guide?
- Iâm certainly no expert when it comes to SAML authentication or Talis Aspire, but I do know what I need to achieve within Aspire for our Students and Academic staff. So is there anything wrong with the current documentation?The current documentation is very good. There are examples, pictures, video, over multiple pages from multiple contributors. However, if I had one criticism of the current documentation it isnât really an idiots guide!
- There are three distinct parts to devolved constraints:1. The SAML authentication system (Shibboleth) set-up by the computer geeks within the institution.

Then there is Talis making sure everything works OK at their end with devolved constraintsAnd then in the middle of these two are you guys trying to ensure that everything works from the Students and Academic perspective and acting as the intermediary between the geeks and Talis. This is where I think the idiots guide would be most useful.
- At Kent are needs are pretty simple.For students:We would like the âMy Listsâ section prepopulated with the modules the students are enrolled upon.For Academic Staff:We would like any member of staff to have the ability to create a listWe would like staff to be restricted to only publishing lists that are attached to the modules they teach on
- So this is what we release.
