Hereâs how that 150 million breaks down across the globe. Sixty percent of our members are now located outside of the United States: theyâre in over 200 countries and territories.Youâll see here: [speak to data on slide]
LinkedIn is a professional network, not a job board. Members come to LinkedIn for a number of reasons:Maintaining their professional profile of recordNetworking with other professionalsFinding insights to get better at what they doActive job searching is just one of the reasons professionals come to LinkedIn, and the majority of LinkedInâs members are passive job seekers.[RMs may remove this slide if context has already been set]
[Note: Important to get the clientâs agreement up front that passive candidate recruiting is a key to success]Because LinkedIn is a professional network, itâs home to both passive and active job seekers Getting passive candidate sourcing right is critical to achieving your recruiting goalsMany of todayâs best candidates are not looking for a jobHowever Recruiting passive candidates requires a very different approach from recruiting active candidates. While active candidates frequent job boards and seek out many opportunities, passive candidates spend their time networking. Theyâll listen to opportunities, but only if itâs the right opportunity for them.LinkedIn is the only platform that can help you recruit both passive and active candidates[NOTE: We should not overlook active candidates as a legitimate source of hire. Instead, focus on how LinkedIn helps you access BOTH these candidates and the tens of millions of passive candidates that canât be reached anywhere else]
LinkedIn is the only place on the web where you can recruit both passive and active candidatesTraditional job boards provide access to only the 20% of professionals who are actively lookingLinkedIn provides access to both these, and the over 80% of passive candidates who are not actively searching on job boardsMany of these members are the people youâre interested in hiring. In fact, last year your company hired ### LinkedIn membersWe know this because we can track every time a member changes his or her profile to your company[NOTE: We should not overlook active candidates as a legitimate source of hire. Instead, focus on how LinkedIn helps you access BOTH these candidates and the tens of millions of passive candidates that canât be reached anywhere else]
Not only is LinkedIn a great source of talent, but your company is already connected to talented professionals. You have two key assets on LinkedIn todayYour ### employees are connected to over ### professionals, and over ### professionals are viewing their profile pages each monthYour company page is visited by ### professionals each month who are coming here to research your companyThese professionals are interacting with your company every day on LinkedIn, but right now youâre missing this huge opportunity to influence them.Transition: Iâm going to walk you through how you can very easily take advantage of this opportunity.[Note: All data excludes employees themselves]
Imagine Erica is a ROLE at ACME systems. Sheâs a typical passive candidate. She doesnât visit job boards but comes to LinkedIn to network. Each time Erica logs into LinkedIn, she sees relevant jobs in the Jobs You May Be Interested In module right on the home page, and in her Network Update StreamBy putting all or most of your professional jobs on LinkedIn, you can ensure that all types of professionals youâre trying to hire see opportunities relevant to them
Visitors to your employeesâ profile pages are the types of candidates youâd want to hire:Relate Merlin data on job function to their hiring needsRelate Merlin data on viewer companies to their competitors for talent and the companies theyâd like to recruit from, as applicableYou can pose this as a question: âAre these the types of candidates that youâd want to recruit more effectively?â[Note: This excludes employees visiting each otherâs profiles]
[NOTE: Remove slide if customer has already bought a LinkedIn Career Page]Another common thing members do on LinkedIn is research companies. ### professionals visit your company page each month. They may come from an employeeâs profile, from a search on LinkedIn, from Google, or from another source.Today, though, they only see basic information about your company, and how theyâre connected to your employeesAgain youâre missing an opportunity to truly engage them.[Note: This excludes employees viewing their own companyâs page]
As with your employee profile pages, your company page is visited by the types of talent youâre interested in hiring.Relate Merlin data on job function to their hiring needsRelate Merlin data on viewer companies to their competitors for talent and the companies theyâd like to recruit from, as applicableYou can pose this as a question: âAre these the types of candidates that youâd want to recruit more effectively?â[Note: This excludes employees viewing their own companyâs page]
When you invest in a LinkedIn Career Page, these ### visitors will see jobs targeted specifically to them. These opportunities are surrounded by employment branding content that shows what itâs like to work at your company through banners, videos, employee testimonials and more.Again, by putting more of your jobs on LinkedIn, you can provide a relevant experience to the broad range of professionals who will be viewing the page. Only posting a small subset of your jobs will give candidates the impression that your company isnât hiring people like them.[Note: This excludes employees viewing their own companyâs page][Note: This slide describes the LinkedIn Career Page, but is presented as a seamless component of a larger solution]
[Note: Use this slide to explain the âMerlinâ methodology for calculating impact jobs have on customersâ hires:]LinkedIn can measure exactly how our jobs influence hires. For example:When a member like Erica changes her profile from ACME Systems to your company, we recognize that youâve made a hireIf Erica viewed one of your companyâs jobs prior to joining your company, we recognize that LinkedInâs jobs influenced that hireFrom this, we can calculate exactly how many hires LinkedIn influenced. This is an extremely powerful way of measuring influence. Many passive candidates donât apply to jobs as soon as they see them. They may network their way to a job, or return to the careers website after an opportunity first sparks their interest. These candidates are lost in most source of hire reports, but theyâre often first influenced by LinkedIn.[Note: Influenced hires viewed a job less than a year before joining the company. Excludes the month immediately before a member joined.]
Not only does LinkedIn deliver hires, but we deliver candidates that canât be found anywhere else.Ÿ of our clientsâ hires that were influenced by LinkedIn jobs (people like Erica in the example on slide 21) were passive candidatesâcandidates that would be impossible to find on traditional job boards. This means:They viewed a job on LinkedIn and were later hired by the companyThey did not perform a job search on LinkedIn in the month prior to viewing the companyâs job. They found the job they viewed through JYMBII, a forward from a contact, Career Page, or another job recommendation, AND that they were not actively looking at the time.Only LinkedIn can deliver results like these. And all of this occurred automatically![Important Note: There are 3 stats referring to passive candidates in this deck:50% of job applications come from sources other than search (slide 11). LinkedIn is good at getting the right jobs in front of the right people, and is not limited to active candidate search.74% of hires influenced by jobs are passive candidates (meaning they did not perform a search). LinkedIn delivers hires that no other platform can deliver because of our ability to match the right job with the right candidate. The two stats are highly complementary, but the 74% stat is more easily explained after youâve walked the customer through the Merlin hiring impact methodology. If a customer asks what the difference is, you can explain âA lot of our applicants (50%) come from recommended jobs, and an even higher percentage (74%) of hires our clients make are candidates who were not looking at the time. This shows just how valuable it can be to get your jobs in front of passive as well as active candidatesâ] 3. ~80% of members on LinkedIn are passive (slide 8): This refers to the overall membership of the site, based on a study of LinkedIn members conducted by the Adler group
