2. Our activities
Culture and Education Studio „Talent City” has been established with the aim to offer various creative free
time activities to children and adults in Latvia. Two main activity directions are: organizing various
educational and creative courses and maintaining Latvian cultural heritage through ancestry traditions.
There are various handicraft courses in Talent City where people can get new knowledge and know-how like:
bijouterie making,decoupage, leather crafts, glass painting, , felting, knitting, crocheting, candy bunch
making, embroidery etc.

• A specially designed course "Discovering
Latvia" in English gives an opportunity to
understand the Latvian culture, traditions,
language and today’s situation.

• 2,4 % of population (45 870)
Latvia's population is 2.2 million: 82% Latvians, 15% Latvian non-citizens, 1.4% are citizens of
Russia, and 0.85% other registered immigrants
• Origins of immigrants
• Russia, Afganistan, Georgia. Immigrants mostly are in the age from 20 to 40 years with a
secondary
• education (85%).

• Latvia is not a target country for immigrants; comparatively low level of social welfare in Latvia.
Reasons: Family reunification 56 % (spouses and children) Employment 14 %, students
