This document provides a short introduction to Linux operating systems and networking. It defines what an operating system is and its responsibilities in managing computer hardware, memory, processes, and security. It explains that Linux is an open source kernel, not a full operating system, and that distributions like Red Hat are operating systems based on the Linux kernel. It gives a brief history of Unix, Linux, and important developers like Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman, and Mark Shuttleworth. Finally, it discusses some basics of installing Linux, booting from a USB drive, and using command line tools like nmcli for network configuration in Linux.

Short Introduction With Operating System &
Networking With - Md. Taiseen Azam
2. What is an Operating System - OS!
An OS is the most important software that runs on a computer. It
manages the computer's Memory, Processes & all of its Software &
Hardware. It also allows you to Communicate with the computer,
without knowing how to Speak the Computer's Language. Without
an OS, a computer is useless.
For large systems, the OS has even greater Responsibility's &
Power's. It is like a traffic cop - it makes sure that Different
Program's & User's running at the same time. But don’t interfere
with each other. The OS is also responsible for Security, ensuring
that Unauthorized User's do not access the system.
4. What is Linux & why?
Linux is not an OS! It’s a kernel! So, What is a Kernel?
Kernel is a program, which is all time running in an OS!
It’s an interface between Hardware's & Software's. it’s a System Software.
WHY :-
Linux is an Open Source Project under GPL ( General Public License )
Linux is Highly Flexible, Reliable, Potable & Secure. It’s virus Free!
In Linux every things a File. Hardwar's, Drivers, Software's all are File's.
These are format-less simply-strings of characters File's. Easy to access.
An OS based on the Linux Kernel is called a - Distribution / Distro.
5. Short Introduction about Linux & Distro’s!
The Unix OS was created in 1969 at AT&T's Bell Laboratories in the United States by
Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie.
University of Helsinki - 22 year's student Linus Torvalds in 1991 first write source code
for Linux Kernel & give a name Freax ( a combination of "free", "freak" & the letter X
to indicate that it’s a Unix-like system ), but his friend Ari Lemmke is a administered
the FTP server where the kernel was 1st hosted for download, named directory Linux.
at 1980 in MIT AI Laboratory - Richard Stallman start Open Source Software Evolution.
They Need a OS but before need a Compiler. So he make a GNU C Complier ( GCC ),
Now they need a Kernel & create GNU HURD.
In 2004 - Mark Shuttleworth funding the development of Ubuntu, a Linux distribution
based on Debian, through his company Canonical Ltd.

12. In Linux - CLI ( Command Line Interface ) is the best way for network
configurations, Because it’s have many help-full option in Server Environment
We use RedHat Distribution for networking configuration.
1st open CLI mode Or Terminal & type - nmcli ( Network Management CLI )
