TYPO3 CMS is not only the most used Enterprise Open Source CMS in the world, it is also used in a lot more places than many imagine. This talk will give you the overview, what made TYPO3 what it is today, how the community is structured and what amazing success stories TYPO3 can show forward. Kian T. Gould is the founder and managing director of AOE media GmbH. While still at school he founded the company and worked on a variety of demanding Internet projects. He has over a dozen years of experience in the rollout of complex Internet portals and applications. During this time he has worked on more than 500 Enterprise web projects. As a Senator in the "Bundesverband für Wirtschaftsförderung und Außenwirtschaft" (Federal Association for Economic Advancement and Foreign Trade) he advises the German Federal Government on Open-Source Technology issues. Kian is the official fundraiser for the TYPO3 association and in charge of marketing for the Enterprise Web CMS, as well as being involved in a variety of TYPO3 Community projects. Ben van 't Ende is community manager for the TYPO3 project, leading a community to grow, inspiring to share and encouraging people to join and participate, reducing bottlenecks and other areas. Managing a community is like herding cats and is more about enabling people to find a basis to participate in the community then actually managing it.

De cookiewet is voor velen nog steeds een ver van mijn bed show. Het is duidelijk dat vooralsnog elke website-eigenaar hieraan moet voldoen. Door de vele onjuiste adviezen, incomplete informatie en warboel aan uitvoeringen, weet haast niemand exact waar hij aan toe is. AlterNET ontwikkelde na een goede beoordeling van alle eisen en regels een cookiewetmodule. Inmiddels is de extensie bij verschillende organisaties in de praktijk getoetst. Bovendien is de module ook getoetst en goed bevonden door Stichting Accessibility op het voldoen aan de Webrichtlijnen. In deze presentatie belicht Ric van Westhreenen (alterNET) de cookiewet van alle kanten. Ook bespreekt hij aan de hand van waargebeurde anecdotes de belevingswereld van website-eigenaren. De presentatie is informatief en met name praktisch. Aan het eind van deze presentatie weet u exact wat nodig is om per 1 januari te voldoen. Ric van Westhreenen Ric van Westhreenen is algemeen directeur en mede-eigenaar van alterNET Internet BV. Gedurende zijn studietijd richtte hij samen met Hans Olthoff het bedrijf op. Als een van de eerste internetbedrijven in Nederland kozen wij voor TYPO3 en ontwikkelden wij een onnoemelijke hoeveelheid websites en applicaties hiermee. Ric van Westhreenen is daarnaast een zeer actief TYPO3 Community-lid. Naast de jaarlijkse betrokkenheid als mede-organisator van het TYPO3 Congres, spreekt hij regelmatig op diverse internationale TYPO3 congressen.

Een manier voor extensies om de controle over te nemen van delen van de TYPO3 CMS core, of andere extensies, is het gebruik van hooks. Tijdens deze presentatie zal ingegaan worden op de reeds in overvloed aanwezige hooks van de TYPO3 CMS core met voorbeelden van toepassingen. Eveneens zal uitgelegd worden hoe je zelf hooks kunt inzetten in je eigen extensies. Middels best practice zal getoond worden hoe in het algemeen een hook gebruikt kan worden. Patrick Broens Patrick Broens (1970) is als TYPO3 Core Developer en zelfstandig ondernemer sterk betrokken bij de TYPO3 community en de ontwikkeling van TYPO3 sinds 2001. In de dagelijkse praktijk adviseert hij organisaties en bedrijven over de implementatie van TYPO3 producten en biedt hij een ondersteunende rol op het gebied van TypoScript en extensies voor TYPO3 CMS. Als voorvechter van toegankelijke websites heeft hij recentelijk grote wijzigingen aangebracht in de TYPO3 CMS core, om de frontend output te laten voldoen aan onder andere WCAG 2.0 en WAI-ARIA. Een adviesrapport voor een toegankelijk TYPO3 Neos is op het moment van schrijven in de maak.

Inhoud presentatie: Hoe kan ik TYPO3 inzetten als facilitator van webservices ter ondersteuning van klantgerichte bedrijfsprocessen. Deze presentatie zal gedaan worden door Mark Vermeulen - Twokeys en Lars Gerritsen - CNV Onderwijs. De presentatie geeft een beeld van diverse bedrijfsprocessen en de daarvoor benodigde ondersteuning en samenwerking van koppelvlakken en TYPO3 CMS. Kernpunten uit de presentatie: - Klantgericht optimaliseren van bedrijfsprocessen - Verhogen klanttevredenheid door services en snelheid - Besparen op operationele kosten Mark Vermeulen Mark Vermeulen is sinds 1998 zelfstandig ondernemer in de internetbranche. Als directeur/ontwikkelaar van Twokeys (voorheen Browsemedia) was hij o.a. betrokken bij de oprichting van I-portal.nl. Zijn focus ligt nu vooral op het ontwikkelen, beheren en hosten van diverse applicaties en het creëren van API-tools. Daarnaast heeft Mark een API-based communicatieplatform ontwikkeld. Zijn passie is het begeleiden van organisaties bij het invoeren van nieuwe technieken en het zoeken naar generieke oplossingen. Lars Gerritsen Lars Gerritsen is adviseur digitale media bij CNV Onderwijs. Al kort na zijn studie (marketing & communicatie) was hij één van de eersten van de internetgeneratie. Zijn carrière begon binnen de marketing, waarbij de combinatie van ICT-kennis en marketing altijd centraal stond. In zijn huidige functie is hij vooral bezig met de ‘digital excellence’ van alle communicatie, het beheer van de infrastructuur, de digitale planning en de implementatie van webservices.

TYPO3 Congres 2012 - Wat komt er kijken bij een TYPO3 CMS in een gemeentelijk...

Het in 1907 opgerichte bedrijf SKF is de grootste producent van kogellagers ter wereld. Naast het produceren van kogellagers is een belangrijke dienst van SKF het gegeven van advies over de toepassing van lagers. Hierbij wordt gebruik gemaakt van door SKF zelf ontwikkelde simulatiesoftware waarin praktijktoepassingen van lagers worden nagebootst om onder andere levensduurberekeningen uit te voeren. Omdat dit soort materie vrij complex kan zijn, is een belangrijk aspect van deze software de beschikbaarheid van een goede handleiding. Dit is waar TYPO3 om de hoek komt kijken. Voor SKF ben ik op dit moment bezig om een centaal documentatiesysteem op te zetten, gebaseerd op TYPO3. De documentatie die door TYPO3 wordt gegenereerd kan in de simulatiesoftware zelf worden bekeken met een geïntegreerde browser. Bijzonder hierbij is dat niet elke gebruiker dezelfde mogelijkheden heeft in de simulatiesoftware. Afhankelijk van de licentie van een gebruiker zijn bepaalde onderdelen in het pakket wel of niet actief. Met behulp van uitgebreide gebruikersprofielen krijgt elke gebruiker uniek voor hem gegenereerde documentatie te zien, die precies past bij de mogelijkheden in zijn simulatiesoftware. In mijn presentatie zal ik meer vertellen over deze niet alledaagse toepassing van TYPO3. Hierbij zal ik met name ingaan op hoe TYPO3 is gekoppeld en geïntegreerd met andere SKF systemen en de verschillende manieren waarop TYPO3 is uitgebreid. Denk hierbij aan de uitbreiding van de frontend authenticatie, custom backend modules, custom clickmenu's, LaTex ondersteuning in de RTE, automatische video conversie naar HTML5, en nog veel meer. Interessant voor ontwikkelaars en beleidsmakers die willen zien wat de uitbreidingsmogelijkheden van TYPO3 zijn. - Een niet alledaagse toepassing van TYPO3 - Een showcase van de uitbreidingsmogelijkheden van TYPO3 - Aanknopingspunten voor ontwikkelaars Bart Dubelaar Bart is 31 jaar en werkt als Technical Software Engineer bij Logica, onderdeel van CGI. Bart is gecertificeerd TYPO3 integrator en heeft 3 jaar ervaring als TYPO3 ontwikkelaar en integrator. Op dit moment werkt Bart als consultant bij SKF in het Engineering & Research Centre waar gewerkt wordt aan interne Knowledge & Simulation tooling.

Waar het intranet ‘vroeger’ vaak een middel was om vanuit de organisatie te communiceren naar de medewerkers is nu het tijdperk aangebroken dat het intranet een platform moet zijn voor medewerkers om kennis op te doen, samen te werken en met elkaar in contact te treden. Intranet is ‘voor medewerkers en door medewerkers’. Gemeente Oisterwijk is met deze filosofie aan de slag gegaan. Hierbij stonden de volgende zaken centraal: Allereerst is het zaak de medewerker meer controle te geven over de informatie die hij ontvangt. Natuurlijk houdt de organisatie de mogelijkheid zijn boodschap te communiceren maar krijgt de medewerker meer controle over het toelaten van andere communicatiestromen die er in de wereld zijn. Dit principe zien we o.a. terug in het widget systeem. De medewerker kan informatie op zijn eigen homepage zetten die HIJ interessant vindt. Hiermee krijgt hij dus de mogelijkheid zaken te organiseren zoals hij dat wilt. Daarnaast herkent het systeem de medewerker en op basis daarvan wordt gerichte informatie geboden. Waar vroeger de organisatie veelal de leverancier was van inhoud zien we nu een verschuiving naar de medewerker. Waarom zou de medewerker zelf niet kunnen communiceren over de zaken waar hij zich mee bezig houdt. Via de projectenmodule geven we daar handen en voeten aan.De medewerker is zelf als projectleider verantwoordelijk voor de projectpagina die voor hem is aangemaakt. Hij kan zelf dus nieuws, afspraken en documenten plaatsen zonder dat hier een webmaster voor nodig is. Als laatste dient intranet ook een ontmoetingsplaats te zijn waar medewerkers hun gedachten over bepaalde processen/zaken kwijt kunnen. Dit wordt o.a. gerealiseerd door mogelijkheden om te reageren op berichten en forums. Door al deze zaken te implementeren zien we dat de medewerker de belangrijkste rol krijgt in het intranet. Het intranet is daarmee niet iets van de organisatie maar juist voor en door de medewerkers van de organisatie. We nodigen u van harte uit om eens een kijkje in de keuken te nemen van ons intranet InSite. Tevens zal in deze sessie ook aandacht besteed worden aan een reserveringenmodule welke ontwikkeld is binnen dit intranetconcept. Bijna elke website bevat geografische informatie. De standaard is de contactpagina waarop vaak een routekaartje staat. Bij gemeentelijke organisaties maar ook bedrijven biedt het combineren van verschillende data op een kaart bij uitstek de mogelijkheid om informatie op overzichtelijke manier over te brengen. Denk dan bijvoorbeeld aan verkiezingsuitslagen, risico-kaarten, bushaltes enzovoort. In deze presentatie laten we zien op welke wijze geografische datasets uitkomst bieden bij het ondersteunen van de informatie op een website. Concrete voorbeelden van toepassingen worden getoond en toegelicht. Hierbij zal onder andere ook gedemonstreerd worden op welke wijze deze informatie in een TYPO3 CMS omgeving geplaatst kan worden via een generieke TYPO3 extensie gekoppeld met GeoCMS. Marco 't Hoen (Esri Nederland) Als account manager bij Esri Nederland help ik mijn relaties bij het oplossen van hun vraagstukken via geografische informatie systemen. Deze vraagstukken lopen uiteen van webtoepassingen tot mobiele oplossingen en van implementatie van OTAP omgevingen tot centraal ontsluiten van geo-informatie. Techniek, draadloze communicatie, nieuwe ontwikkelingen en internettoepassingen heeft mijn persoonlijke interesse en probeer ik dan ook op de voet te volgen. Op deze wijze kan ik mijn relaties informeren en deze informatie tevens gebruiken om opportunities te spotten. Jeroen Lieverdink (Esri Nederland) Sinds juli 2009 werkzaam als business consultant bij ESRI Nederland Solutions. Daarvoor 9 jaar coördinator Geo-informatie en Landmeten bij gemeente Uden. Jeroen adviseert en ondersteunt gemeentelijke organisaties in het proces om datasets met een geografische component te laten integreren en integraal deel te laten uitmaken van enerzijds de totale gemeentelijke gegevenshuishouding (gegevens-beheer) en anderzijds de beheer-, werken dienstverleningsprocessen in back-, mid- en frontoffice (gegevens-gebruik). Jeroen studeerde landmeten aan de Hogeschool Utrecht en heeft aansluitend vanuit zowel de gemeentelijke- als bedrijfslevenzijde met de gemeentelijke organisatie en haar werkprocessen kennis gemaakt. De daarbij opgebouwde kennis en ervaring wordt nu door Jeroen ingezet om in specifieke processtappen de beheer-, werken dienstverleningsprocessen te laten integreren met geografische datasets en GIS-technologie met als gevolg moderne snelle dienstverlening en beter onderbouwde besluitvorming.

Bouw je eerste site met TYPO3 Neos (voorheen TYPO3 Phoenix). In deze presentatie vertelt Rens op welke wijze je je eerste website bouwt in TYPO3 Neos. TYPO3 Neos is er bijna (op moment van conferentie in beta), dus hot. TYPO3 Neos is de toekomst. Rens Admiraal Rens Admiraal is een freelance webdeveloper / coach en Senior Software Architect bij Beech Applications uit Venlo. Rond zijn 14e is Rens begonnen met 'programmeren', toen nog door het analizeren van code snippets op prehistorische computers. Door telkens opnieuw nieuwe uitdagingen aan te gaan heeft Rens meerdere talen geleerd, en heeft hij meegewerkt aan een breed scala aan web projecten. Nu is Rens TYPO3 Flow / TYPO3 Neos core lid en werkt hier vooral aan de Javascript kant van TYPO3 Neos. Bij verschillende bedrijven heeft Rens gezien hoe ontwikkeling in verschillende mates van structuur gedaan kan worden. Langzaamaan heeft dit geleid tot een grote interesse voor ontwikkel structuur, continues integration, automatisch testen en code kwaliteit. Nu helpt Rens bij het opzetten van ontwikkelomgevingen en het trainen van ontwikkelaars om in zo'n omgeving te werken. Rens woont in Ede met zijn vrouw en 3 zoons, speelt basgitaar en houdt ervan om af en toe wat druk van de ketel te halen op een (beach)volleybalveld.

Test-Driven Development is een kernwaarde van TYPO3 Flow en Neos development - zie hoe, en waarom, we dit doen. De complexiteit van frameworks zoals TYPO3 Flow en applicaties als TYPO3 Neos is een goede test coverage essentieel, of de kwaliteit en ontwikkeling zal langzaam stil komen te liggen. Deze sessie laat zien hoe we unit en functionele tests maken voor PHP en JavaScript code. En aangezien het maken van tests zonder het uitvoeren niet veel helpt zal ook Continues integrations (CI) zijdelings genoemd worden. Met de lancering van de nieuwste TYPO3 CMS versies wordt het belang van werken met Extbase en Fluid steeds groter. Wanneer je nog extensies ontwikkelt op basis van pi_base of je wilt graag extensies gaan ontwikkelen maar je vindt de drempel is hoog, in deze sessie leer je de basics van een extase / fluid extensie en zie je hoe eenvoudig het is om extensies te ontwikkelen. Henjo Hoeksma Na enkele jaren als hobby met TYPO3 gewerkt te hebben, heeft Henjo zijn beroep gemaakt van het ontwikkelen van websites en webapplicaties op basis van het TYPO3 framework. Na een korte periode gewerkt te hebben als ontwikkelaar bij alterNET en een internationaal bedrijf in LED verlichting is hij als freelancer aan de slag gegaan. Met een passie voor nieuwe technieken, kwalitatieve oplossingen & code en de TYPO3 producten & community ondersteunt hij vanuit zijn bedrijf Stylence zowel grote als minder grote organisaties in de ontwikkeling van websites en maatwerk oplossingen.

Waar het intranet ‘vroeger’ vaak een middel was om vanuit de organisatie te communiceren naar de medewerkers is nu het tijdperk aangebroken dat het intranet een platform moet zijn voor medewerkers om kennis op te doen, samen te werken en met elkaar in contact te treden. Intranet is ‘voor medewerkers en door medewerkers’. Gemeente Oisterwijk is met deze filosofie aan de slag gegaan. Hierbij stonden de volgende zaken centraal: Allereerst is het zaak de medewerker meer controle te geven over de informatie die hij ontvangt. Natuurlijk houdt de organisatie de mogelijkheid zijn boodschap te communiceren maar krijgt de medewerker meer controle over het toelaten van andere communicatiestromen die er in de wereld zijn. Dit principe zien we o.a. terug in het widget systeem. De medewerker kan informatie op zijn eigen homepage zetten die HIJ interessant vindt. Hiermee krijgt hij dus de mogelijkheid zaken te organiseren zoals hij dat wilt. Daarnaast herkent het systeem de medewerker en op basis daarvan wordt gerichte informatie geboden. Waar vroeger de organisatie veelal de leverancier was van inhoud zien we nu een verschuiving naar de medewerker. Waarom zou de medewerker zelf niet kunnen communiceren over de zaken waar hij zich mee bezig houdt. Via de projectenmodule geven we daar handen en voeten aan.De medewerker is zelf als projectleider verantwoordelijk voor de projectpagina die voor hem is aangemaakt. Hij kan zelf dus nieuws, afspraken en documenten plaatsen zonder dat hier een webmaster voor nodig is. Als laatste dient intranet ook een ontmoetingsplaats te zijn waar medewerkers hun gedachten over bepaalde processen/zaken kwijt kunnen. Dit wordt o.a. gerealiseerd door mogelijkheden om te reageren op berichten en forums. Door al deze zaken te implementeren zien we dat de medewerker de belangrijkste rol krijgt in het intranet. Het intranet is daarmee niet iets van de organisatie maar juist voor en door de medewerkers van de organisatie. We nodigen u van harte uit om eens een kijkje in de keuken te nemen van ons intranet InSite. We delen graag onze ervaring en geven voorbeelden van hoe je veel voorkomende uitdagingen aan kunt pakken. Ook kijken we naar andere websites om te laten zien hoe responsive webdesign in de praktijk wordt ingezet en laten we zien hoe we TYPO3 gebruiken om responsive websites te realiseren. 1. Mobile first? Vorig jaar groeide het aantal bezoekers van mobiele websites met 600%. Jouw website heeft ook een mobiele doelgroep. 2. Er zijn veel best practises op het gebied van responsive webdesign. We laten er een aantal zien om veel voorkomende uitdagingen aan te pakken. 3. De presentatie bevat voldoende informatie om direct in de praktijk toe te passen. We laten zien hoe je een TYPO3 CMS website eenvoudig responsive kunt maken. Vincent Kessels Vincent is creatief denker binnen ROQUIN en weet uitdagingen creatief op te lossen. Daarnaast is hij als projectmanager de bewaker van de voortgang en de kwaliteit van onze projecten. Het TYPO3 CMS kent hij als zijn broekzak. Wouter Beeftink Wouter beweert alles te weten van front-end development en heeft een voorliefde voor JavaScript en schone code. It’s so hard that we sometimes attempt to guess by trying out tentative fixes, but that usually results in frustration, messy code, and a considerable waste of time and money. This talk explains how to correctly zoom in on a performance bottleneck using three levels of profiling: distributed tracing, metrics, and method profiling. After we learn to read the JVM profiler output as a flame graph, we explore a series of bottlenecks typical for backend systems, like connection/thread pool starvation, invisible aspects, blocking code, hot CPU methods, lock contention, and Virtual Thread pinning, and we learn to trace them even if they occur in library code you are not familiar with.
