6. To meet the challenges of today’s markets,
Wampler’s has made a decision to address rising
utility costs and to leverage marketing
opportunities with green technology.
Over the last 5 years, Wampler’s has successfully
built, installed and/or procured:
a waste water treatment system
recycled material program
two solar photovoltaic (PV) systems
most recently, a biomass-to-energy system
7. All of these programs and
installations have proven to be
cost-cutting, while protecting
our environment.
These green practices have
put Wampler’s Farm Sausage
Company in a recognized
category of environmentally-
responsible companies.
12. How The CHyP System Works
1. Biomass processing system prepares feedstock
– 45% maximum moisture content – 6-12mm chip sizes
2. Biomass broken down in pyrolysis process in CHyP
– Heated to 1000C in absence of oxygen
3. Syngas cleaned by recirculating through incoming biomass
– Tars, particulates removed
4. Syngas and biochar exit the CHyP
– ~96% syngas, ~4% biochar

29. Environmental Impact
• Wampler’s 30 kW and 500 kW solar systems produce a
total of 694,410 kilowatt hours annually
• The CHyP System will produce 3,985,800 kWh
• Combined that’s 4,680,764 kWh of clean renewable
energy annually!
– That’s enough to power 424 average homes!
• This offsets Wampler’s CO2 emissions by 78%,
reducing 2,748 tons of CO2 annually.*
– This is the equivalent of planting 390,000 trees!
• And offsets 10 tons of NOx, SOx and particulate matter
emissions annually.
*CO2 credits produced through solar systems are sold to the TVA.
