I did not know why they chose me or whom I was presenting to, but I always loved a challenge.

- My jaw dropped because I was clueless as the level of importance of that speech. From that moment I was ready for anything anyone could through my way.
- Some of you may remember school like this… I decided to become a student like (next slide)
- As apart of the founding class, which felt like an experiment. Things weren’t really established, That’s what made going to school fun and unpredictable.
- There was a lot of figuring stuff out along the way. Which didn’t bother me made us have to think on our feet and that’s something I really enjoy doing

- Take a look at this picture for a second. a student using a saw, generally a tool that even adults rarely use During school hours working to close to that trailer taking learning outside of the school walls taking the lab across town crossing boarders exporting what happens inside of MC2 STEM Appears to be dressed nicely not to work with machines –( I make a curtsy) This isn’t an boy, or an adult or teach, this is me at 16 years old at local elementary school You don’t really see an adult around because my assistant principal at the time believed enough in me to allow me to run and operate the trailer alone. Which gave me confidence and reassurance that I was doing something right This is what really started changing my approach behind what school is all about

- It was the start of something that really jump started my passion for design, making, planning, sharing ideas
- Sharing this passion with the younger generation and the opportunities it provides you
- After a couple months of being left as the manager I began to fall in love with the mobile fab lab exported to different communities.
- This opportunity takes me other places as well and allows me to share this experience globally.
- If you look in the top right corner you will see the same machine from earlier. In the fall of 2011, I was invited to MIT’s International Fab Lab convention (FAB7) in Lima, Peru. Having similar machines around the world expands the network of building, making and sharing of ideas. During this conference ,during and after the woks shops you see is people tinkering all around you
- You get to collaborate with amazing people from nearly every part of the world.
- I was learning something new about teaching and the way people in general learn at workhsop.
- This sharing of ideas in a conference like this cant be scripted or planned.
- The environment and atmosphere alone will inspire you to want to make a change when you get back to your home city.
- I wanted to bring back and share everything that I have gained travelling with my peers.

To show them all the cool things that were being made around the world and the possibilities that our lab offers. This tree topper meaning behind it Inter circle represents the world and how every piece has to be there in order for the sphere to stay in tack.
- I was doing all stuff around the world but this was what brought it wall home for me. Her class was learning about deciduous trees their leaves. They were able to decorate the laser cut tree with leaves they colored. When a first grader’s parent came up to me and said, “Thank you for working with my child. Its as if he is a total different student and kid.” my goal to give back to not just my own community, but in every community I come in contact with. (kee it going with what the fablab does)
- Wouldn’t it be great if all students; young to old were reinvigorated by having access to technology
- In our high school we learned how to do things like this. For us in my high school it was our digital fabrication laboratory or a FABLAB. It not only excites student but it lead us to a world of possibilities. The concept of being able to take learning about a 2D concepts that is sketched out on paper and then have the capcity to bring that same principal to life.

- For most school this is where is stops. The student stands in front of the class and presents this. But I was able to take this to the next step and in the end present this (holds up solar charger from back pocket)
- Where do you think we would be if more students and educators had the opportunities to make more things like this?
- Then maybe the star trek replicator might not be that far off.
