Globalization is driving the demand for translation services. However, customers are increasingly focused on price, speed, and the integration of the translation process into the their own workflows. Affordability, scalability and integration have become key drivers in customer adoption of translation services. Unbabel is developing a translation service that combines machine translation and distributed crowd post-editing by a growing community of bilinguals and professional translators, enabling efficiencies that allow for scale and lower prices. In parallel, Unbabel is integrating the translation process into the tools that companies already use to create content and to communicate with their own customers, tools such as Zendesk, MailChimp, WordPress and Github. In this talk we describe Unbabel’s method and technology as well as showcase key integrations and early results. This presentation is a part of the MosesCore project that encourages the development and usage of open source machine translation tools, notably the Moses statistical MT toolkit.
