2. Salient Features of Cast-in-situ River Bridge:
 Preferred for short bridges.
 Too much time consuming.
 Involves the following process :
1. erection on ground supported staging
2. casting of concrete
3. dismantling of staging.
 This method has been divided into three parts :
1. cast in-situ post tensioned
2. balanced cantilever
3. incrementally launched.

3. Example: Balduinstein River Bridge
 The first cast-in-situ river bridge was built in 1950 across
the Lahn River in Balduinstein, Germany.
 Construction method - Balanced cantilever method.
 Main span – 62 m.
 Superstructure – Pre-stressed concrete.
