Master Julia Cameron.

1. Julia Margaret Cameron
Julia Margaret Cameron was a British Photographer and born on June
11, 1815 in India. She was considered the “ugly duckling” among her
sisters. Julia was educated in France but returned to India and married
her husband in 1838. Her husband was 20 years older than her and
retired in 1948. for her 48th birthday, her daughter gave her her first
camera. With it, she strove to capture beauty. I her later life, she took
less pictures due to lack of materials. She died in 1879 from a supposed
chill.

2. Impact
• Julia Margaret Cameron was one of the first to use closely cropped
pictures of famous celebrities of her time. In Julia’s time, her style of
photography was not widely known or used.

3. Homage
• I chose Julia Margaret Cameron because of her beautiful portraits.
• I like portraits because it can show the beauty inside of a person as
well as the outside beauty. Her portraits show the beauty of an array
of people. Her subjects were old and young.
