We follow the antics of the Quad Pod as we aim to complete yet another mini-challenge!

2. Welcome back to From the Hart: An OWBC, where it’s time for an interlude! Time to find
out how much FUN plantsim-vampires are!
I’m about to take these four plantsim-vampire hybrids (although the picture was taken
before they were bitten) and top the slacker career four times. It’s one of those
challenges where you think initially “how hard can it be?!” and then face palm multiple
times whilst playing.
Before we begin, let me reintroduce you to the pod! L-R: Inchworm, Cerulean, Canary
and Sunset. Each one has a remarkable personality of 0/4/2/1/0
It’s going to be a long ride, folks.

3. First thing’s first, being a plantsim-vampire requires a lot of watering. And by that I mean
showering.
These guys had literally just stepped on the lot and I had to install four showers straight
into the living room.

4. That solution wasn’t ever going to last for long. Not when there isn’t a single neat point
in the house.
But totally necessary. Like the porch shower back at the main lot.

5. I will admit to using the wiki to find out exactly what skills the pod needed, and setting to
work on it right away.
Most of them had mechanical & creativity points leftover from a toddlerhood spent on
the activity table.
And yes, this screenshot was just to point out they don’t have reflections – I love it :D

6. So there was a lot of trips from the shower to the mirror.
I eventually had to build a shower room, they were just whining about the puddles too
much.

7. I’m aware that these first few slides are not super interesting.
Things do improve! Interesting things do happen to these guys!

8. “Guys, we can’t succeed in this mission alone. We need help.”
“That doesn’t sound very Quad Pod but go on.”
“We need someone to make friends for us! Whilst we hide from the sun!”
“You know what? That sounds like a great idea.”

9. “We’re heading out…to find ourselves a friend…”
“And maybe some juice. You know, if there’s time.”

10. Basically, the pod enjoys themselves whilst Inchworm makes a friend.
I checked the rules, there was nothing to say I couldn’t move anyone in as a friend maker.
And quite frankly, I don’t think I could have done it without one. Not without getting
frustrated.

11. Inchworm and Kelly Cwik clicked, like, immediately. There’s even boltage. Things couldn’t
be more perfect!
But we’ll have to wait until he knows her a bit better, before she can become the Official
Friend-Maker.

12. Dawn arrives, and the pod has just enough money for two coffins. Two folks get to sleep
peacefully, the other two get to complain and shower all day.

13. Inchworm has to suffer, because he didn’t earn as many skills as his sisters when he was a
toddler.
Too much time dancing, probably.

14. Night fell, and Kelly was invited over. The pod currently has one lamp, and as long as
they’re sitting near it, night time is pretty peaceful.
“Inchworm, you have hardly anything in here!”
“Uh…we’re minimalists? Definitely not broke, if that’s what you were thinking.”
“Neat! I can get behind that!”

15. His house may be empty, but Inchworm’s heart is full <3

16. “So this vampire thing. Sure does suck, huh?”

17. On a completely different night, although you can’t tell because there’s no daytime
pictures, Inchworm appears to be making progress with Kelly. And it sure does confuse
him.
“I love you, Inchworm!”
“Say what now?”
“I love you!”
“I don’t follow.”

18. He gets there eventually, though.
It was around this time that Kelly moved in and became the Official Friend Maker of the
Quad Pod.

19. Being the friend maker is so much fun!
As is being the owner of the most neat points. Even if it is only two neat points.

20. In other news, Cerulean is now flirting with a guy she met on the internet. Online friend
to Real Life Crush!
That’s Ashley Pitts from Sim State, by the way.

21. True romance.

22. Sunset broke the computer and ending up getting a lecture.
“That computer was our only source of fun, Sunset! How irresponsible!”

23. You break it, you repair it.
“This sucks.”

24. Finally, it’s the Quad Pod’s first day at work. Look at them all, aren’t you proud?
Their first steps into the big wide world!

25. “Honey, I’m home!”
Somebody got demoted and is now behind her siblings. She doesn’t look too distraught
about it, but it is a little annoying the Quad Pod is out of sync now.

26. There must be jealousy that fellow members of the pod are dating, but Canary is also a
Family sim so she’s desperate to find someone to love.
Enter the matchmaker, of course.

27. We gave her nearly three grand so this better be good.
Hold onto your hats and cross all of your fingers!

28. Enter Mr Delivery Guy, could he be Canary’s One True Love?

29. Kelly started a fire and tanked Canary’s date meter, rendering that three thousand
simolean donation to the matchmaker useless.
Thanks, Kelly.

30. Oh, good.

31. And here comes the rest of the gang, all promoted. I really doubt Canary will catch these
guys up now.

32. “Inchworm, I feel like the worst member of the group.”
“What on earth do you mean?”
“You guys are all ahead of me at work…you have dates…I can’t get anything right.”

33. “I know we’re a Quad Pod, Canary, but people go through life at different speeds – and
that’s the same for us, too.”
“So I’m not the weakest member of the pod?”
“Of course not! We love you, just the way you are.”

34. Inchworm’s pep talk gave Canary the confidence to bust a move for Gordon Wolosenko.
He was into it.
Also I have no idea where he came from or why he was in the house. I played this too
long ago to remember, sadly.

35. Two natural bolts. Can’t argue with that, can you?

36. Do you think Kelly ever feels a little left out?
It must be hard living with a tightly-knit clique.

37. For some reason, Kana stopped by and infected everyone with the hula dance.
The Quad Pod are her grandchildren, but it still seemed a little odd that she just dropped
by.

39. Inchworm, Sunset and Cerulean are winners! Top of the career track!
It looks like it’s going to be at least another week before Canary joins them unfortunately.

41. Their reward for all their hard work: vampire cure.
Plant-vampire sims are hard work!

42. Inchworm decided one reward was not enough and went to bed with Kelly.

43. ACR decided it was the perfect time for a lullaby.
Naturally.

44. “Dating’s dumb but everyone else is doing it, and I have a lot of free time now, so hit me
up.”
“And how much are you paying me for this service?”
“The full $5000. Go big or go home.”

45. “This man is the love of your life, I guarantee it.”
“Didn’t you set him up with my sister? A little while back?”
“I do not recall.”

46. “So you think you’re all that, huh? I remember the flaming bag of poop you left here for
my sister.”
“…I thought I recognised the house…”

47. Needless to say, romance did not blossom between Sunset and Mr Delivery Man.

48. That night, when it was safe to leave her coffin, Canary wanted her two bolt crush
Gordon to come over.
She probably feels a little bit lonely, being the only plant-vamp now.

49. Looks like things are finally looking up for Canary 

50. Canary’s the only nocturnal sibling now, Cerulean waited for the sun to come up before
inviting her love interest over.
He looks a tiny bit chilly, bless him.

51. Cerulean was able to warm Ashley up.
They’re happy together for now, but who knows what the future holds.

52. “Oh honey! How did this happen?”
“Are you kidding me, Kelly? We can’t even keep the plants alive…”

53. That night, it was time to fulfil a want Canary’s had for a little while…The bedroom was
obviously the best location for it…
“Gordon Wolosenko, you’ve stood by me through everyone, and for that I cannot thank
you enough…”

54. “Gordon, will you marry me?”
“Canary…of course!”

55. <3
…anyone else think Gordon looks like a knock-off Goopy GilsCarbo?

56. “Hiss! I started a trend!”
She sure did. I’m convinced Inchworm didn’t want to get married until Canary chose to
get engaged.
She also decided to get in the way so I couldn’t get any decent shots.

57. Of course, Kelly said yes.
By this point, she’s practically an extra member of the pod she’s been around for so long.
And there’s no way I could’ve managed the challenge without her.

58. And because the entire pod must be present for the wedding, Inchworm and Kelly were
married at night.
It was a really pretty wedding!

59. Dawn arrived before the ceremony ended, which meant Canary had to miss the vows
unfortunately.

60. Inchworm took Kelly’s name, and the couple are now Mr and Mrs Cwik 

61. The reception was splashing in puddles, because what more could a group of plantsims
want?

62. “Good luck catching anything from behind that tree, sis!”
All this disposable income and free time basically means everyone runs around doing
whatever they want. Everyone except Canary, of course.

63. That night, it was time to meet the latest addition to this weird little family!
Sunset looks super sympathetic, doesn’t she?

64. “Hey, Inchworm, can you hold this one for me for a moment?”
Twins, of course.
Inchworm and Kelly welcomed twin girls, named Bonnie and Marcie.

65. After the twins arrived, there was lots of killing time – waiting for birthdays, waiting for
promotions – that I didn’t take many pictures.
At least the plants aren’t dead anymore, right?

66. Eventually, it was time for toddlers.
I wonder why I didn’t have Kelly bring one to the cake??

67. This little one is Marcie!
She takes mostly after Kelly, but got Inchworm’s dark hair.

68. And this little one is Bonnie!
Bonnie got her father’s huge eyes, and blonde hair from her grandfather Onyx, which is
cool!

69. Speaking of Onyx, he was invited over to meet his newest grandchildren, but spent the
night slapdancing instead.
Those are his magic feet, dancing up a storm and interrupting Canary’s story time.

70. The next day…we are finally done! Thank goodness for that!
Canary has topped the Slacker career and fulfilled the requirements for the Quad Pod
mini challenge!

71. And now it’s reward time!
Let’s cure that vampirism!

72. And because she wants to leave the pod and move in with her partner, Gordon, let’s cure
that plantsimism too!
There’s already so many plantsims in the ‘hood, this felt right.

73. Goodness, who is that?? Canary looks s different!
And super cute, but we already knew that.

74. Canary and Gordon were married right away, becoming Mr and Mrs Wolosenko.
They left the house pretty much straight away, and now live in their own place.

75. There was also a birthday that night, so I thought I’d show you what Bonnie and Marcie
look like as kids before ending the chapter!

76. Here they are! I love Bonnie’s big eyes!
It’s odd how different the twins look, but I like it.

77. And that’s it! The Quad Pod mini challenge is complete, which was bonkers and fun to
play all at once!
