3. Trends are how we interpret what’s happened before, to help us try and
understand and predict the future. The idea is that we want something
different than what we have now, but not too different.
This can be a gradual change from what was, to what will be. And what we
have now will soon be what was in the past, ready for re-analysis and
adoption at a later point. In the end, design is cyclical— continuously
pulling from the past.
Do we follow, do we dabble, do we resist or do we set the trends?
Decipher what works for you. Trends can help us see things from a
collective lens, then you can filter and create your own unique space and
home.

4. What are other interior experts saying?
People are exploring a more
out-of-the-box, colorful
side and want their homes
to be a reflection of who
they are, not a catalog.
Alexis Rogers, Home with Alexis
People are increasingly
seeking connections from
nature. For example, wood
is a timeless, versatile
material.
Chris Von Eckartsburg, BCV Architecture
People are starting to turn
to colors to pull different
feelings and emotions. We
are seeing people want to
be energized and wrapped
in color.
