My name is Christiaan Gabriël van der Westhuizen and I am writing to you as I am interested to be employed at your

I feel that I am the right candidate for the following reasons:
I did a lot of vocational work, whereby I worked mostly in the electrical field but still learned a lot about the
workshop and outside environment.
I do have experience in the Civil Engineering field, whereby I did some work for JK Betonman, laying slabs
and reinforced concrete floors, and also roof thrust design and building.
I am currently busy finishing my BEng Civil Engineering Degree at the University of Pretoria, I only need to
write one more subject in January 2017.
I am Afrikaans spoken, and are fluent in English.
I have experience working on the following designs programs:
o CMSW32 Continuous monitoring systems
o EPANET 2.0
o EPA SWMM 5.0
o GeoStudio 2012 Student version
My qualities I bring to an organization such as yours are; loyalty as a dedicated and hard worker, trustworthiness,
willing to go the extra mile for my employer and customers, results focused to get the job done, team player that
takes charge where the situation requires it, life experience to make informed decisions while not being too shy to
ask, and very keen to learn. I am a confident, dependable, gregarious and bubbly self-starter, exude a positive view
on life, mostly first to help others, and am happy to share with those around me.
I can be a little impatient when things don’t happen fast enough or others don’t deliver as promised, but I am mostly
there to lend a hand to help the process along.
The only dislikes I have are dishonesty and people that do not keep to their word. In both cases I am able to deal
firmly but diplomatically with the situation.
I pride myself in the way I look and present myself as an employee and a gentlemen, but I am still a dedicated
worker and not afraid to do the physical work, and would always want to ensure that I show the utmost respect to
my company and customers in the workplace.
