   A factory as per section 2(m) means any
    premises wherein 10 or more persons are
    engaged if power is used, or 20 or more
    persons are engaged if power is not used, in a
    manufacturing process.
 This act has laws related to the health,
  safety and welfare.
 There are provisions related to approval,
  licensing ,registration ,inspecting staff of a
  factory.

•   They don’t work for more than 9 hours daily.
•   Intervals for rest at least ½ hour on working
    for 5 hours.
•   Overlapping shifts are prohibited in Godrej.
•   Restrictions   on   employment    of   women
    before 6AM and beyond 7 PM.
