4. Background
From stickee to Mobile Fish
The founder and MD of Mobile Fish, Stephen Gray had previously founded and
ran a digital creative agency in London called stickee.
stickee modeled its agency based on an independence from production and as
such, contracted all of its work out to freelancers and or small production
houses within an Approved Supplier List (ASL).
Stephen sold stickee early 2016 and as part of the deal, he retained the rights to
the freelance list and will continue to do the search and selection of freelance
talent for the agency.
Although Mobile Fish is a new business with a different market and business
model to that of stickee, the ASL, the accompanying relationship and
experiences of managing the list have been accumulated since the start of
stickee in 2001.

5. What do we do
Contract Placements
Contract placements are made for a set duration of time and based on an
agreed day rate for a 1 - 6 month contract period. Contract placements can be
either local or remote. Local contract placements work from your office as part
of your internal team whilst remote contract placements will work form their
own local home/office as an extension to your team.
Project Placements
Project placements are all remote. They also work on a day rate but supply a
fixed cost against a set project deliverable. Either the client can manage the
freelancer(s) directly (most common for a single freelancer or simple project) or
Mobile Fish can manage the project (most common for teams of freelancers,
bigger projects or busy clients)

11. Where we source talent from
Tier 1 - London
Tier 1 freelancers are based in London and have the benefit of being placed
locally within your office. They are the highest cost so we would never
recommend a tier 1 freelancer for remote working.
Tier 2 – UK Cities
Tier 2 freelancers are based in out of London hubs such as Birmingham, Bristol,
Brighton, Manchester and as such, have a reduced cost compared to those
working in the capital. They are best used on projects where a cultural
understanding of the projects audience is of high importance.
Tier 3 – Outside UK
Tier 3 makes up the majority of our freelancers and are based outside UK.
They’re the best to use in terms of value. Currently we recruit from Poland,
Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Argentina & Brazil.

12. Team collaboration abroad
Want your outsourced freelance team to be co-located?
No problem!
We have arrangements with co-location office spaces in the UK cities outside of
London and our foreign cities.
This allows us to create a project team in one city and have them work together
on the project, giving you all the collaboration benefits of them being sat in the
same space.
The client simply pays us the cost of the membership for each individual.

The following times act as a guide for how long in takes us on average to find a
suitable placement, complete contracts and have them working with you:

14. How do we charge
We like to keep our billing simple & transparent
We negotiate the day rates of the freelancer with them prior to appointing
them. These rates range from tier 1 (highest) to tier 3 (lowest). We have a good
understanding of what the market rates are for all tiers so strive to get you the
best value whilst fairly reimbursing the freelancer for their talent.
After we obtain a day rate or fixed project cost for you our charges are as
follows:
+ 25% – for search & selection
+ 50% – for search & selection inc project management
Terms of payment are end of month for contract placements and 30 days from
delivery for project placements.
