Non-white ethnic groups are more likely to experience relative income poverty compared to white ethnic groups. While non-white ethnic groups make up a small percentage of households, they experience a 31% poverty rate versus 23% for white households. Living with a disabled person also increases the likelihood of relative income poverty, with 39% of children and 32% of working age adults in poverty if living with a disabled person, compared to 24% and 19% without a disabled household member.
