6. Once the magma is expelled, the eruption stops. Magma keeps building up until the pressure is great enough to create another explosions.
WALT compare and contrast Task: Compare and contrast two photos. One before you natural disaster occurred and one after. Success Criteria: How will I know when i have been successful?  - I can identify what is the same in the two photos  - I can identify what is different in the two photos  - I can explain why these changes have occurred Differences- - There is hardly any snow left after the volcano had erupted. - There is snow before it erupted. - You can see the rubble after the volcano erupted. - You can see the clear blue sky before it erupted. - It is clean before the volcano erupted. Similarities- -You can still see parts of the house. - They are both on the same mountain. - You can still see the chimney on the house after it exploded. How this occurred- - The reason why there is no snow in the photo after the volcano occurred is because all the rubble and dried up lava has covered all of the snow, which has caused it to melt all of the snow. - The reason why you can't see the clear blue sky in the photo after the volcano erupted is because the photo is taken from a different angle and positions. The reason why you can't see parts of the house is because after the volcano erupted it made the mountain partly collapse. By Jaymee Smith This is a picture of the Napier Hastings Volcanic eruption.
Before the volcano has erupted it just looks like a mountain unless you look at the top of it and you can see the top layer that is a part of the volcano. I know this because I have researched about it. After the volcano has erupted there will be ash and hard lava and magma on the volcano as the volcano would have erupted and spread magma and lava all over it. On the radio if a volcano is going to erupt or has erupted there will be a signal and after the signal they give you helpful information to GET THROUGH. I know this as I have seen the add for this on television. I have never actually been in a volcanic eruption but last year for a class trip we went to the Auckland Museum and there was a volcano house which makes you feel what it feels like to be in one and the house started to shake that we were in. I think that it would be very scary and frightening to be in a volcanic eruption because I would not know what to do and what I should expect from the eruption. In the house at the Auckland Museum there was big booms from when the volcano erupted. It is very loud when all of the volcanic rock and things from the volcano hit the ground. I know this because I have researched about this. It looks like fireworks exploding from a mountain. Looks Like- Sounds like- Feels Like- A giant pimple on earth’s face and then mother earth popping it and lava and magma coming out. You can hear people screaming for their lives because they might die in like 1 minute. They wouldn't know whether they are going to die or not. I would feel blank because I do not know what to do when there is a volcanic eruption.
My Narrative Writing!
Mother Nature VS The God Of Heat. Once in the years of the 1 st century in the land of Aotearoa, lived only Scott the God of Heat and Lisa Mother Nature. Every night and day Scott rested with peace under the earth, while Lisa used this time to make the Earth a peaceful and a beautiful place, with flowers as beautiful as raindrops and trees like a green emerald. But one day Lisa went a bit over board and brought punua as noisy as children in the playground into the land and Scott did not agree with Mother Nature. Scott had never, ever wanted to have any animals or people but then along came Lisa. Before Lisa came, Scott could do what ever he wanted to do, stand around, sleep and be the boss of his land. So he got really angry with Lisa. He thought to himself, “What can I do to get back at her?” Scott thought all night long. He came up with some amazing ideas but he knew that they were impossible to do. Suddenly Scott had a brainwave. “I know!”, He called out to his great friend Jay the God of Movement. “Please do a great big dance so that I can erupt, I want to get back at Lisa.” He called back, “Why, why do you want to get back at her she has done nothing wrong, or has she?” Scott heard his call back. “She has done everything wrong. I did not agree to have animals in the land and she knows that we both have to agree on something before we can go through with our ideas!” The god of heat called back “You know that I LOVE her, how can I do this to her.” He yelled back “please, please even if it is a little dance.” Jay thought about it for about an hour before he yelled back “Ok, but you cannot badly hurt her because you know I LOVE her!” Jay agreed and started to dance creating an urge for Scott to erupt. Soon after the god of heat felt the heat in his stomach and then all of a sudden BOOM, BOOM went Scott and lava and magma exploded everywhere. He then heard, “cries and screams.” He then realized that had done something wrong instead of something good. He decided to stop and instead of hurting her to actually talk to her and make an agreement so that they can both live in land peacefully and quietly. After the God of heat stopped, Lisa went up to him to talk to him. They had a very long talk and decided that Lisa can have some animals and some plants in the land and they decided to be best friends for eternal life. By Jaymee
