A hernia occurs when an organ or fatty tissue protrudes out through a weak spot in a surrounding muscle or connective tissue. It develops mostly in the abdomen area due to muscle weakening through which an organ or fatty tissue pushes out. The most common types of hernia are inguinal, incisional, femoral, umbilical, and hiatal.
