2. Introduction
This portfolio contains my previous work at Toyo Engineering India Pvt Ltd. I was
assigned to civil design team working on IEFCL project which was being built in Nigeria.
The project was to build a 2,300 MTPD AMMONIA/4000 MTPD UREA PLANT For
INDORAMA ELEME FERTILIZER AND CHEMICAL LIMITED IN PORT HARDCOURT,
NIGERIA.
Following are some of the assignments which were assigned to me.
1. Surge Lines foundation: This was one of the most challenging and exciting
assignment I have worked on so far. The assignment was to design foundation
for pipe which was subjected a sudden horizontal force of 79T. This
assignment required some creativity and out of the box thinking. With the help of
my Japanese colleagues we came up with this design.
(Pages 3 to 6)
2. Equipment supporting structure: The structure was 90m high used to support
large pipes for an equipment. I understood the various aspects involved in design
of a steel structure. I performed the design using STAAD and then checked the
connections using excel sheets.
(Pages 7 to 11).
3. Foundation for Start-up heater: Due to unorthodox arrangement of the
pedestal and the higher loads on the pedestal this foundation couldn’t be
designed on the conventional software which were used for equipment
foundation so I designed it using Finite element analysis on STAAD Pro.
(Pages 12 to 15).
4. Equipment foundation: I designed over 80 different type of equipment
foundations. The foundation types include open foundation
(Octagonal/Rectangular), isolated foundation with tie beam, MAT/Raft
foundation, Foundations supported on piles, tank foundation on piles. These
foundations were designed using software such foundation 3D, MAT3D and
excel sheets.
