2. Wonderdogs for sale by Violet
Macdonald
My dog can't fly or run or skip,
Or drag to air a sinking ship,
He can't fly planes or sail a sub,
Or make things with a yoghurt tub,
He cannot talk or shake your hand,
He can't jump like a rubber band,
My dog can't drive or navigate,
Or on a stick balance a plate,
He can't even go for a walk,
Let alone draw with chalk.
They said he could, when I bought him,
Wonder dogs, so fit and trim!
And now the streets are cleared of fog,
I'm not too sure it is a dog.

My hamster is an amazing sight.
Come closer, now. He will not bite.
He'll do a cartwheel just for you,
And then he will unlace your shoe.
He'll fight your dad, 'coz he is tough.
Just tell me when you've seen
enough.
And while your father rubs his
bruises
He'll wrestle with you, he never
loses.
And then he'll jump above your
head,
And scale the walls of the garden
shed.
Now close your eyes, make all lights
dim,
