History of the discipline or Why a psychologist is interested in religious issues? Psychology of religion
Quite surprisingly… (and among the others) the story begins with Wilhelm Wundt, along with his Völkerpsychologie, in 6 volumes, published between 1905 and 1911 Wilhelm Wundt (1832-1920)
Wundt’s ideas Origins of myth evolutionary process originating in elementary and nonreligious events projection of human feelings and desires implementation of intentionality Origins of religion a feeling that our world is a part of the larger, supernatural one a need to comprehend MEANING
