2. External assessments valuable for continuous improvement
• External independent assessments of
sustainability and rankings in significant
indexes are important for us, because they
support the development and continuous
improvement of our operations.
• We believe that accountability for mitigating
climate change is a business imperative.
• We welcome the increasing awareness and
interest of capital markets on climate
disclosure and performance.
• However, assessment metrics has to be
relevant for the issue under consideration and
regional and sector differences should be
taken into account.

3. Views on the Climate Impact Assessment report
• Carbon footprint is only a momentary snapshot
of current carbon exposure. Forward looking
analysis reflects better the risks and
opportunities of long-term investment.
– Integration of climate change mitigation
into company strategy
– Long and short term aspiration and
ambition in climate issue
– Past and future trend in decarbonisation
– Climate policy endorsement
• Various sectors differ in nature of climate
performance. Internal sector comparison
therefore important.
• CDP’s extensive database is a profound global
source for independent information and
could/should be utilised even more effectively.
