- Retrofitting existing buildings is at the forefront of passive design…especially here in Ojai where getting permission to build new homes is harder than winning at the lottery. Retrofitting has a return on investment of 3-5 years…can you think of anything else we could invest money into and see all of your investment dollars come back to you in savings in as little as 3-5 years. Retrofitting your home is probably the single safest place for anyone to invest money with a guaranteed rate of return, safer than any stock market or real estate investment. Commercial buildings too, businesses could increase their profit margin in just a matter of years by reducing their energy bills.
- Everyone of us owes it to our kids to provide the healthiest and safest environments for schools. To give them any less compromises their ability to learn
- No building project is too big or too old to retrofit to passive design
- Some people say to me but we can not afford to retrofit to passive design…with a payback in one year, I would go so far as to say we can not afford not to retrofit all buildings to passive design. Keeping buildings the way they are is the most expensive option available.
- Two and a half times more efficient. We can not afford the energy to keep building the way we have been doing, in fact it should be illegal to build as we do today.
