The document describes the Deployable Disaster Device (D3) Wind Turbine project. The project aimed to design a portable wind turbine powered generator that could produce electricity for 24 hours and be carried by one person. Key aspects of the project included choosing a NPower Marine turbine, designing a collapsible frame that fits in a Pelican case, and producing 250 watts of power while staying under budget at $2,070. The completed D3 Wind Turbine was lighter, more portable, and lower cost than the previous D3 Solar Turbine project while providing electricity generation anytime.

● Design a product that can
produce power 24 hours a
day
● Make it cheaper, lighter,
and more reliable
5. Project objectives - Parameters
● Budget: $2,500
● Size: Compacted into Pelican
Box
● Weight: Carryable by a single
person
● Power Output: 250 Watts

Hinweis der Redaktion
Specify what aspects of the design you are improving on: Comparable power, cheaper.
- by a $2,500 budget. 150lbs. same power. more power generation. increase in money. 250 watt but possibility of 400 watts in perfect conditions. 240watt for solar power
PROJECT objectives - parameters
Continuous research? because… why? Figure out better way to phrase this
“Did research and am continuously modifying”
Top labels (week 24, week 25...week 33): crop out top section with weekly labels. Use photoshop put in own headings
say that red is where we went over budget but say that green is where you were under budget. and total is under budget
Explain the DMM- (logical projection) based on the parameters we named we looked at the values between options. Because we weighted x factors as more important we gave those parameters a higher weighting factor. Because the LiFe was the most favorable in these parameter aspects this alternative was chosen.
Insert slide showing pictures of the turbines and explain that structurally they are similar its the performance is where it differs
say what the power is at 28mph. Peak Power: 400 Watts at 28mph
Convert chart into 2D chart. add y-axis label. keep entire chart, explain that turbine has internal dampening system to slow self down at higher wind speeds to prevent the instrument from braking. Specify that wind speed tolerance of 40mph is of the structure, not of the turbine itself. include free standing chart and tied down turbine chart.
Dont have two slides with same name. fabrication, manufacturing,
Intergration assembly
chassis and base for tower
insert chart comparing wind turbine to solar panels. make it look like budget chart. use pictures of both (put pictures on another chart.)
budget, weight, assmebly time, Power output,)

still keep nejhad guys for acknowledgements
Do you want to include other interns? any other names?
