THEY ALSO PAVED A WAY TO ESTABLISH THE JIM CROW
LAWS.

3. IT WAS 1892 AND WE STARTED TO SEE PEOPLE FORMALLY SPEAKING UP AND TURNING TO THE LAW.
HOMER PLESSY REFUSED TO GIVE UP HIS SEAT TO A WHITE MAN ON A TRAIN AND FOUGHT HIS ARREST ALL THE WAY TO
THE SUPREME COURT.

4. In 1909 The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP) was born.
IN 1967 THE NAACP DECIDED TO ATTACK THE JIM CROW LAWS BY
FOCUSING ON EDUCATION.
