Main Project Features
Construction of 62 km double tracking between Laksam and Chinki Astana includes Computerized
based interlocking (CBI) signalling system at 11 stations using Axle counter for block communication
and connected to Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) for the controlling & monitoring of the station CBI
system from Chittagong using a new 130km Optical Fiber (OF) between Laksam-CTC-Chittagong ,
transmission and interface equipment using optical fibers and approach warning system with CCTV
monitoring at level crossings.

2. Activities performed:
• Visiting project site and performing inspection of site work and accordingly preparing Technical
Reports on “Signalling and Telecommunication System Installation Work”.
• Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Computer Based Interlocking Signaling system includes
Point machine, Axle counter, Track Circuit, Power system, All indoor equipment, Signals, Tockenless
block.
• Installation of Hardware of Centralized traffic control (CTC) system.
• OF cabling & Installation for Communication.
• Supervising the installation work of 625KVA, 200KVA Sub-Station for power up gradation.
• Installation of Level crossing gate Signalling system with approach warning & CCTV camera.
• Assist in preparing Project Schedule, Project Cost, site work plan and maintaining coordination with
site engineers to achieve the completion within targeted date,
• Assist in preparing Installation Manual for “Signalling and Telecommunication System” setup and
“Testing and Commissioning Plan” before handover of the station to BR with new “Computer based
Interlocking” Signalling System.
• Preparing Weekly, Monthly and Annual Progress Report on project works.
• Maintaining liaison with Employer (Bangladesh Railway), Consultant (SMEC), Sub-contractor (LSIS Co.
Ltd.).
• Assist in preparation and submission of the “Technical Specification & Drawing of the signalling
equipment”.
• Preparing letters on issues involved with project works and payment.
• Assist in Coordinating Training Program for BR engineers to make them acquainted with "Computer
Based Interlocking” Signalling and Telecommunication System.
