Women in the Aegean region of Turkey traditionally wear long embroidered robes, baggy trousers, short jackets, aprons, and multiple head scarves, sometimes including a fez, along with slippers and jewelry. Men wear short baggy trousers, jackets, shirts, wide belts, neckerchiefs, and headgear such as fezzes or unusual tall turbans, along with socks and slippers or boots. For both women and men, traditional fabrics include silk, velvet, and cotton, which are often patterned with colorful stripes and embellished through embroidery.
